Taking our first long trip with our RV,... Everett WA to Phoenix via Yellowstone Prk. Need help on deciding the route to take from Yellowstone.
Is the mountain route through Utah then E. of Grand Canyon, or through the HOT desert via LasVegas the safest for us? We're also pulling a toad if that makes any difference through the mountains & desert.

It won't really matter which way you go, it's a gonna be hot. If I had any input on this...because it's your first trip...I'd plan the most scenic way. You want to have the most enjoyable trip possible, so go see stuff you both like. If you choose to hit Death Valley, maybe do it after midnight? the drive will be beautiful at the cooler part of the day. That road is not for the novice in summer.
Some advice tho...make sure that you always have plenty of water with you. In your tank and some bottled in the fridge. Should you experience moho troubles, get under the awning and stay put, drinking water. This is not meant not be a fear mongering thought, you just have to be aware of what you need to do to be safe.
