If you like wine, a nice winery about 45 minutes away is Château Morrisette

Located at milepost 171.5 on teh Blue Ridge parkway Yahoo driving directions

I could spend a day in the tasting room, but bring a designated driver.

I live about 30 miles from Mt. Airy. IMHO no, there's not enough to do there to warrant a week's vacation. Maybe 3-4 days. If you have a toad, you can explore the Blue Ridge Parkway which is beautiful! Plan a trip to the Boone/Blowing Rock area. You can easily spend a couple of days there.

I live in Mayberry, I wouldn't stay at the so called Mayberry CG, it is liitle more than a gravel parking lot with hook ups. If it means anything to you I am staying a week at the Fancy Gap KOA starting this Sunday due to high fuel costs. If you want to know about the area send me a PM.

We stayed at the Fancy Gap KOA a couple of weeks ago. Very nice campground, very friendly and helpful managers. It is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and about 20 minutes from Mt. Airy.
