Open the door and check the label.. If it's an LG it's not worth fixing (Nothing they make is worth fixing, Not don't take this wrong, the reason is when you can replace it for around 100 dollars, or less dollars and a technician charges 100/hr 1 hr minimum it's not worth fixing.. It has to have a sticker price over $200 before repair becomes reasonable and LG microwaves.. I don't think they make one over 150 bucks)
Remove the Microwave from the coach, Take very careful measurements, Note the vapor exhaust port and how it's ducted (if it's ducted) and then head for the BIG Appliance Store such as Best Buy, Frys, Costco, Sams, around me ABC warehouse.. And get one the same size not made by LG. If you can.
(I very much do not like LG microwaves. Never seen one that worked right, in fact save for cell phones I've never seen anything from LG that worked right more than 1/2 the time... Worst failure record of any company I've ever dealt with and I've seen hundreds of LG products,, Most of 'em returned for warranty repair.. on my Dometic by LG microwave I did the repairs myself (28 bucks) and now it works right.. Of course I did not use OEM parts.. Used GE parts. GE much better.)
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

Update - after removing the microwave from the RV, I decided to give it one more chance and plugged it into the garage receptacle. Of course ... it worked fine!!!
After having a cold beer while staring it down, I decided to re-install it and see what happened. of course ... it worked fine.
Went camping last weekend, it worked fine. No funny numbers on the display panel or beeps in the middle of the night. Go figure!
One theory was that it could have misbehaved if the voltage to the unit dropped too low. Hard to check that one out. For now it works and that saves me money and agrravation for now.
Thanks all for your suggestions and ideas. I'll let yo know if it goes wonky again. ~ bugjr ~

Did you check the label to see if it was a Dometic by LG or by someone else?
Like I said, I've never seen an LG microwave that "Worked Fine" or at least to my standards... NEVER.. They made the only officer burner Microwave I've ever seen. (Thankfully a quick thinking co-worker on the shift where it ignited hit it with the stream from a handy fire extinguisher and put it out before the office wall caught)
Thankfully.. They don't make that model any more (At least I think they don't)

My microwave is branded a Dometic and built in 1992 by an IN based firm for them. Definitely not a LG.
