I don't see how it can be straight water. The only place the domestic water comes close to the glycol is where the copper tubing is wrapped around the boiler tank and that has two barriers being the copper tube and the tank itself. Do you have a serial number off of the Aqua-Hot unit. The first two digits tell the year it was manufactured and the four digits after the dash tell what number it was in that year of production. I am wondering if maybe they had a design change somewhere between 02 when mine was produced and yours. I just don't see how the water could inject itself into the glycol system unless it was inside the tank like you mentioned. That doesn't make sense because I would think they would have a model number change if that was the case. Mike.

Hi Mike,The serial # is 03-1117.I just phoned a dealer in Penticton a few minutes ago who I know has the same problem on an 05 patriot that they ended up replacing. The old one is torn down to the tank and the water line goes inside of the tank.So maybe they did have a change.

Do you know or not if he drilled the rivets and removed the insulation on the tank/coil or just saw the lines going into the other half of the enclosure? I would think if they had a design change they would have a different model number unless they seperate it by serial number only. If this is the case I wonder why they decided to run the lines internally. Did the guy at Aqua-Hot say if they had a design change? Mike.

The service manager said the tank kind of looked like a beer keg with lines going inside.I have a call into Aquahot again to ask the same question, but that being the case do you think my original thought on trying to repair it with the "aluma seal" rad repair would work?

They must have had a design change because mine looks like a pony keg with 1/2" copper tubing wrapped around the outside.
As far as radiator stop leak, I wouldn't if it were me. I had several motorhome friends tell me the same thing when I was troubleshooting mine and then removing it. They said that before they went through the headache of removing they would try some stop leak. My experience with any type of stop leak is that it is temporary and when it lets go next time it will be more catastrophic. I would repair or replace it properly for piece of mind if anything. Not only for your own sake but if you decide to sell it or trade it in down the road that would be a unexpected surprise to some poor sole that found the leak after buying a high end coach. My wife and I were commenting about the price when ours was giving us fits and we are still recovering financially from purchasing our new trailer. It would have hurt to have to spend $5 grand on a remanufactured unit but I would have done it to do it right. Just my two cent though, Mike.

www.HydronicRVHeating.com is the correct YahooGroups Web-site. (TheCapital letters have to be just right). This Web-site is the VERY best Re:Aqua-Hot. Moderator RogerBerke is at the FMCA Rally in StPaul right now. TOM

The last time we had our Aqua Hot sereviced the technician said thay were going to a modular based system. You might try the Beaver Owners Group forum that just changed to Forum. Sounds like an expensive fix is coming your way.

The correct URL for the Yahoo Group Hydronic Heating Forum is as follows:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/HydronicRVHeating/
Hope this helps. Roger is a big, big help and would listen closely to what he has to say.
