Last week, we were surprised to see nothing but B11 available in Mount Vernon, IL. We passed it up. Good thing, too - because our owner's manual said to use a maximum of B5. A quote from our manual: "Diesel fuels containing a higher percentage of Bio diesel content will cause damage to your engine and are not approved. Damage of malfunctions resulting from poor fuel quality are not covered by the Sprinter Warranty."

"Skipole" (another forum member) communicated with Chrysler (he's on a trip, but gave me permission to post some of his communications). A portion from one of Chrysler's e-mails:
"The current recommendation is that Chrysler LLC diesel vehicles (Liberty, Grand Cherokee and Ram) may be run on a biodiesel blend of maximum 5 percent (B5 meeting the ASTM specification, D6751)"

The purpose of this thread is NOT to discuss the merits of biodiesel, or Chrysler's postion on it.
I'm just trying to determine specifically where it's at. (Not general areas)
Also, I'm trying to give Chrysler diesel owners a "heads up" to check their owners manuals.

Not around here. I only know of one station selling biodiesel within 40 miles.

Here in Upstate NY after a debacle several years ago when cold winter weather had a school district's entire fleet of busses down due to bio diesel and a lot of other reports on folks spending large amounts to clean out fuel systems due to cold versus bio; it's rare to find any commercially available in any B form.

No bio in my area; if I could find it I would run it. I ran B11, full tank without any issue, and the owners manual says max B5 or B20 for government fleet vehicles with added water separators. I carry an extra fuel filter/separator with me just in case I get bad fuel. I would be happy to run B20 if I could find it.

I know of two places in Tucson one sells B10 and B99, I have run both in my 03 Ram with no problems, when I changed the fuel filter it was as clean as when it was first put in.
