I will be purchasing an Arctic Fox next week and I have two to choose from.

I need feedback regarding any of the below question--

HideABed VS Jack-Knife Sofa?????

Thermal Pane Window(I have heard people are having problem with them not closing or leaking)?????

Greaseable Heavy Duty Suspension(What the difference from the Non-Greasable. From what I understand Non-Greasable has a plastic bushing and Greasable has brass bushing)??????

15K AC VS 13K AC?????

If you can answer any of the above I would really really apreciate it. Especially the hidabed vs Jack-Knife Sofa

Jack Knife sofas are dreadful to sleep on. cheap hidabeds require modifications to be comfy. see if they can put in a magic sofa bed from Bradd and Hall.
People swear by their dual pane windows. others swear at them. are storm windows offered instead? If possible I would order storms and use heavy drapes/curtains for insulation value. do a search for dual pane problems/fixes. they are NOT as good as those used in houses. the latest post is "new windows" which I assume is for dual panes although he didn't say.

I have found no Rv funiture that was comfortable. I have giving away the funiture in our last 3 Rv's. I had the Ultra Leather recliners on down. Just got a 2009 5th wheel and it had the Hide a bed air bed. I think its total junk, we gave it and the Ultra Leather recliners to Goodwill. Went to Lazy Boy and ordered a Recline-away Love seat and a Recline-away recliner. We are now comfortable, much less weight and we down have to tie them down.

As for dual pane windows two of the last three had them. The 5er we have now has windows called reflecta windows they aren't dual pane. Much less weight, however if I was getting another I would get the dual pane windows. GBY...

I just replaced my fold out sofa bed with a futon sofa bed from futonsnow.com and it's much more comfortable, both as a couch and as a sleeper. The RV couch sleepers have a lot of wasted space. The futon sleeper has alot more sleeping space, is like a bed, and it don't take up as much room when opened. Mine also matched the interior like it was made for it. Check out their package deals. I'm in no way associated with their company. I just like their product. I put the San Juan in my 5er.....

I don't know who the other RV companies use for furniture but our SB has a really comfortable sleeper sofa. It is the Flair brand hide-a-bed - the couch itself is night and day in padding and comfort compared to the standard jack-knife sofa.

If you have the option, get the Flair hide-a-bed.

I have a 2005 Arctic Fox fifth whee;. One advantage of the jacknife sofa is that it allows storage under the sofa with both internal and external access to the storage area. That is where I store my lawn chairs etc. I think you lose that storage area if you elect the hide a bed option on a Northwood product. I can't compare comfort between the two types.

I owned a Nash for 5 years without thermal pane windows and I elected to get them when I got this Fox. I did have a problem with them not opening easily that was due to a manufacturing problem by the window supplier. Northwood replaced all of my windows about 1 year after I bought the unit and I have had no problems since. They have since changed to a different window supplier for the thermal panes. I would get them again even though it was a minor hassle having them replaced.

hi, maybe i can help, we have thremapayne windows and like them very much, they cut down on noise also i think they are better for hot or cold weather as they offer some insulation capacities. we also have the greaseable pins and the rubber ride from dexter and i like them they help smooth out the bumps in my oponion.

It is my understanding that STANDARD for 2009 are aluminum wheels, never-lube axles, and heavy-duty greaseable suspension.

We have a jack-knife sofa, and that is 10 year old DD's bed. She hates it!! I've slept on it -- I hate it!! The only good thing about it is the storage underneath.

We replaced our two very uncomfortable rocking chairs with a studio day sofa from World Market. The "arms" fold down to make it a chaise or a bed for DD. She really likes it better, and is quite long enough for her (she is almost 5 ft. tall), or for DH who is over 6 ft. tall. We ARE having new covers made for the cushions to more closely match the interior of our TT. (It comes with white cushions. UGH!!). The wood frame is dark wood, which does not match our TT, but I can deal with the dark wood, if it makes sleeping more comfortable, and actually more seating area than the two chairs.

Definitely get the hide a bed--we have it and it gets used quite often--you can always purchase a mattress cover to suite your needs.
We have the newer thermal pane windows--made in Canada--and have no problem with them. Don't know the size of your new unit--we have the 29 5T and would now probably opt for the larger air cond--the 13.5 is adequete--but I would go for the larger after this last trip--we were in 108 degree temp and the smaller unit took a bit longer to cool things off. We have the Dexter Never-Lube-Axles--the newer axles were not available when we ordered out 5'vr. What other options did you get?---Lars
