A machine gun platform like you see on a WWII bomber, night vision cameras and lights that will light up a football field. Oh, almost forgot the reversible license plates and head and tail lights that retract when you want to use the missiles. Oh, oh, oh, and the drop tubes that emit oil on the road when followed. Just kidding….I must be bored…LOL But seriously, my rig can run under water if needed…

OK, since only the urinal poster has a sense of humour on a gadget topic, I seriously add:
- Solar panels and MPPT controller
- Mastervolt 100-amp dial-up battery charger

Hi Katie and Ron. An MPPT Controller for solar panels basically takes some of the solar panel voltage above whats needed for charging your batteries and uses it to increase charging amperage. So if 6 amps are coming in from the panels the controller boosts this to 8 amps of charge. Or so a novice speaks

Here is what is found on the www.svhotwire.com site:

"The MPPT controller recognizes the high potential voltage of the solar module and performs magic when reducing the voltage by simultaneously increasing the amperage charge to your batteries!"

Humour
My wife also didn't think my tongue-in-cheek earlier post about virtual reality glasses was funny either. Day-dreaming in my office one day, sitting lonely waiting for the phone to ring, got me thinking I could purchase these, pop in the CD, and find my tacky work environment transformed into a modern day office with orders coming in etc. Think it what it could do for us now... no need to every upgrade the coach in the future. Just put 'em on and vola!

Thanks for the Info MPPT controller is a new one on me. I have 4 solar Panel and use a Controller for house batt charging mostly in the 12 to 20 Amp range while we are dry camping. I read up about the MPPT controller as I'm thinking about increasing my solar panel by a couple more and will need another 25 amp controller.
Thanks for the great info

Ultama RV

I almost bought the Blue Sky Solar Controller 2000E
but changed my mind. I had a 20 Amp solar controller installed
but kept blowing fuses because was exceeding the 20Amps charging somethings
the deminssions of a hole I had cut in my inside panel would not let me use it
so I had to go with a 25 amps controller same demissions as not to cut a new hole
however 2 or 3 more large panels are in my future so I will be adding another
controller and will definately get the Blue sky 2000E
I was just looking for amps and size to replace the smaller 20amp one
thanks for the info

Two items that I consider best adds

1. heated mattress pad - wife uses whenever it gets chilly - says she can't sleep if her feet get cold and it works great.

2. Plug Dogs - best add ever for getting apart those 50 amp electrical connectors - like the cord to the surge guard and surge guard to 30 amp adapter - especially when it is cold outside and cords are stiff. Here is a link to their web-site Plug Dogs

Switched solenoid CG water shutoff

I haven't seen nor heard of this. Where did you get it?

I usually shut off water when I remember it. Had a line going into the toilet break one time while in town.

I got a 120vac ASCO 3/4" "normally closed" soleniod valve off eBay ($25). Installed it inline in my utility bay and wired it to a lighted switch (Radio Shack, $4) in the galley near a juction box to facilitate an electrical source. A easy mod that allows us to cut off CG water pressure upstream of the rig's plumbing at the flip of a switch. Also a handy shutoff when filling the water tank.

I found it was a PITA to turn off CG water manually at the outside tap, and once having done so, usually forgetting to turn it back on when I returned "home" and having to go back outside again.

Now it is quick and convenient, so we never leave the rig pressurized.

I just have to respond to these posts. Last year while on vacation, we were taking our usual evening stroll. We rounded a corner and what a sight we did see! It was like a gusher up in the air! The poor guys water hose had developed a hole and the water was spraying all over the side of his coach. There wasn't anyone at home so we turned off their water at the faucet and kept an eye out for their return. We told them as soon as we saw them get back home what had happened.
I can understand not wanting the pipes in the coach to spring a leak, but what about this type of situation? We now turn our water off whenever we leave the campground and yes, DH inevitably has to go outside and turn it back on when we return. But that is a small price to pay.

Hey, I'd rather water the outside of the MH than the inside.
