What is the best high end diesel pusher? I know Newell is the very top, followed by Prevost, but what about the regualr motorcoach manufactures? The reason I am asking is I am looking.

Given that my manufacturer Travel Supreme has shut its doors... Foretravel would be at the top of my list on the tier below Newell's.

Country Coach, Monaco, Newmar all have model on the same price points as Fortravel.

If looking for a used coach I would put Travel Supreme on the list...

How long is a piece of string?

I say that because your best and my best and the next guy's best will all be different.

Define best please, then we can suggest.

I think in the next class below the Newells and the Prevost is FT. CC bridges the gap down to the popular name brand production built coaches. Bluebird is somewhere in between there as well. I don't think Travel Supreme would have been above an FT.

My Order

Prevost (Parliament/Marathon) then
-- Newell (accept it has 28,000lbs drive axle which although safe is illegal in all states! )
--- Blue Bird ,all Stainless but (major CCC problem)and overweight 24,000 lb axle,
Foretravel,
Country Coach

Let's not forget American Coach. I defy anyone to compare the AC Heritage, or even the Eagle to the other top of the line makers, especially when you compare factory support, quality of build, and owner satisfaction.

Ok I will put my 3 cents worth in. I would first go with Newell but they are almost all 45 feet long and have various configurations. It is still a fine motorcoach and will be on my list when I look again. I would put Foretravel next. I will put their new Phenix up against any coach out there. I can tell you that CC is a fine coach as well but they are much more production oriented than FT. You can go and sit in the lot and watch your FT being built you can customize it within engineering specs any way you wish. I will tell you that the ride is very very good. I will put it above the prevost ride and I have driven both many many miles. I like a firm ride like a BMW and a Prevost is more like a caddy or mercedes. It is a matter of what you like. I will say that the transmission retarder is unbelievable to. You have to try one to believe it andit is found on Parliment and Featherlite coaches. I think it is a 12k option alone. The Monoco Signature is a nice coach too. I like the ralph loren package but again it is more choose a or b not a true custom coach and the little things are missing.

I will say that for the most part any of the above will serve you well. If you like the little nitty gritty then you will love a Foretravel. I have walked into the owners offece adn talked to him a number of times. I have had my issues with things and they have all be taken care of too. I will say that no companies is perfect bt Lyle reed is working to make it so.

I loved Travel Supreme as well and they made one of the better coaches out there too. It is too bad they are not in business. I will tell youthat FT makes about 50 coaches a year and does not cut corners.
