Stayed at Tremont this summer okay place. They have all staff runinng the place. Had a site on river but was bumped due to a family member/friend of owner or staff. Sites on the river are nice I looked at Big Meadow and I think it would fit our needs better. I do not think you can go wrong at either place I really enjoy Townsend

Big Meadow is big rig friendly. Extremely clean, pleasant owners and staff. No pool for the kids but walking distance to tubing on the Little River which runs past the campground. The rates are very reasonable...$35 for pull thru on gravel and $45 for pull thru on concrete. They also provide storage at $40/mo and includes 10% off your stay cost.

I am on the river at Tremont right now. First time we have camped here, have not encountered any of the rude staff others on this forum have written about. Rode our bikes through the other campgrounds here, we are glad we chose Tremont, we will come back! As a matter of fact I have found the staff to be quite friendly! Townsend is very bike friendly, both the pedal kind and the ones with motors.

Section A riverfront at Tremont is very nice. We also had a pleasant experience with the staff. Can't remember what the site cost, but know that it wasn't $75 a night. I have some pics of Tremont in my photos.

The only place I have camped in Townsend was at Tremont. Had a great time - we were right across from the river. Drove through several of the other campgrounds including what is now the KOA and was glad we were at Tremont.

Cost of all the campgrounds in Townsend is pretty high. Not sure why the think they can charge WDW Ft Wilderness rates bu they do. We have reservations for KOA- formally Little River Village for late Oct and we are in the low $60's even with the extra person charge, which is ridiculous. We love this campground and will continue to go there. Driven through others around and like the flatness, great playground for my little ones, clean bathouses and nice staff.

My favorite is Cades Cove w/Honda Generator...only to dry my hair LOL! It's primitive, but ooooohhhh so worth it!
