We are hopefully selling our wonderful TT and purchasing a used Jayco Eagle from a private individual. Same layout as our TT. My husband feels the set up for a fifth wheel would be easier with his disability. What else would we need to get that we would not have with a TT. It comes with the kingpin tripod. Will we really notice that much difference in towing? Thanks and I appreciate any comments on this

Towing a fiver is far easier than a TT.

Just make sure your truck is up to the task of towing a fifth wheel, which puts a lot more weight on the truck than most travel trailers. Also if you are not familiar with the hitching and unhitching process for a fifth wheel, take the time and read as much as you can about it, and ask someone who tows a fifth wheel for help, advice. I agree, towing a fiver is much easier if... you do your homework.

Friend's of my FIL talked him into trading his TT in on a 5th w. My FIL said "it was the biggest mistake he ever made" He much preferred the TT over the 5th w.
It was really hard for him to bend over to get something out of the compartment
in front as he had to bend over so far. He was in his 80s at the time. Myself,
I have owned 3 5th w, still have a 40 ft on my property in Yuma. I prefer the TT over the 5 th w. Actually I have no problem towing or backing either the 5 th w or the TT but I use the entire bed of the P/Up to haul "stuff"

We went from a TT to 5th wheel last year and I could not be happier. It is much easier to pull and you don't have all that bounce and sway you do with a TT. We can setup in minutes. Most compartments are on the sides and pretty easy to get to. Our TT only had a few compartments and they were under the dinette bench and couch, not much bending here that I am aware of, I guess it depends on the 5th wheel unit you get. You will need to make sure your truck can pull it, but its a great way to go.
Good Luck!

We had two 5ers and now have two TTs (a small and a large). I prefer the TTs because I can back them up better, fewer steps to get into them, no steps inside, easier to get around tight right angle street corners because the TT tracks the truck more closely, and I have covered truck box for "stuff". I have no sway with either trailer. No WDH on the smaller trailer, WDH on the larger trailer but no sway device. My towing speed is 60 or below.
