I have been using a 25 pint dehumidifier for the last 4 1/2 years, while my DSDP is parked next to the house in SW Florida. I check it every few days and dump the water, if necessary. I could set it up to drain into the shower, but it works okay the way it is. On the few occasions where the bucket fills up, the unit shuts off, until I dump it.
It is a bit heavy carrying it in and out of the MH between trips
I also have one of the a/c's set at 90 degrees so my 2 satellite receivers don't overheat.
I use a humidity gauge to make sure I don't get the interior too dry.

I think if you check most of the dehumidifier's can be adapted to use a drain hose. Might need to run a hose, but sure beats carrying a pail full of water out every couple days. As long as it's all down hill I would think it would be good to go. JM2Cents Bill.

Size is not that critical. An accurate humidity setting is. Even a small one will remove moisture fast enough in the small area in an RV and once the moisture is removed, even the smallest units run very little while the coach is in storage(unless doors are opened, etc). But a larger one's only negative is size/weight.

And get one that can sit on the kitchen counter drain into the kitchen sink/gray tank.

BTW, I use an LG LHD45EL which was Consumer Report's "Best Buy" in mid-sized dehumidifiers. We use the mid sized one because when we leave in the winter, I use it in our house. Home Depot has them for $179.

I leave my roof vends open & put 5 pans of charcoal & coffee in frig. Have not had a problem, once a month I open the door & air out the camper. It is sure nice having the camper parked next to the garage

I agree but would add one more negative. For the house I went with a large one in the basement and it makes a lot more noise due to the larger compressor.

25 pints still is 3 gallons a day of water. Yes I know they never do the rated amount unless it is 100 degrees with 100% humidity.

Our 25 pint is hard to hear compared to our 50 pint model.

We bought the smaller one that Sears carries and it has worked great for us. We even carry it in the basement ans use it sometimes when on the road - especially in Florida. We also use it for the stick house sometimes. It is pretty quiet, 35 pint, either can drain to an enclosed container or can use a hose and run to a sink or shower drain. It was about 120 bucks when we bought it but now I think it is about 150 on sale.

We have used a dehumidifier for over 15 years here in humid FL and find that one you can handle is best as you will be taking it in and out of the coach. We got Sears smallest and it works great in our 40 ft MH. It is less than 400 square feet.
