Do any of you use the tension rods in the frig to hold items in place? Do they work? This last trip every time we parked and opened the frig half the contents would tumble out from the main shelves and doors. I guess we were taking some rough roads. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I have the tension rods but never use them. Never had a problem with things falling out.

I use small plastic baskets. In my fridge, that is two baskets per shelf. It seems like stuff cannot get a running start at the door to whack it open when in the baskets. On the rare occasions when rough roads make the door open anyway, the whole basket plops out onto the floor instead of a bunch of separate items. I don't know if the baskets restrict the flow of cold air around inside the fridge.

I use the those swimming noodles, one noodle is good to do most shelves, cut about 1/2" longer then needed and then wedge in. Bill

We've used the tension bars for years in our fridges, and they have worked fine for us.

We use the tension rods. They work pretty well, but they can be overcome by heavy objects like several bottles of wine.

They are hard, rather than soft, plastic. Very sturdy.
I use tension rods in the medicine cabinet, though.

I have some chrome bars that raise about 1" and lock for traveling and then fold down when stopped. I took them off I think a 1980's era Dometic frig and have transfered them two the two Norcolds I've had. I also use the non slip stuff on the bottom two metal shelves and only put plastic/cheese, etc. on the top shelf to make them last longer. All metal and glass goes on the bottom glass shelf.
