I thought there were many critereas that had to be met before you attach a second trailer? Like here in CA, you have to pull it with something larger then a F550, 5500 or larger and had to have some special rating on your license as well. Also, couldnt be longer then 70'???

In Cali the maximum length for a combination is 65’ and there is no limit to how long each trailer is provided you do not exceed 65’. Exception: a set of doubles can be 75’ long provided neither of the trailers exceed 27 ½’ (it might be 28 1/2’). You do need a CDL with doubles & triples endorsement. Oh and you could do it with a half ton if you wanted to and your trailers are light enough.

I just had a reputable welder weld mine on. It has pulled many miles with no problems.

I had to look it up to make sure.
This is what I found and where I found it.
Minnesota has a few conditions as they call them as follows:
1. Only a "fifth wheel" coupling is allowed between pick-up truck and camper.
2. The " fifth wheel trailer" may not exceed 28 feet from the front most point to the rear most point.
3. The trailer behind the camper is only hauling a watercraft, a motorcycle or motorized bicycle, off-highway motorcycle, equestrian equipment and supplies, or motorized golf cart.
4. The total combination of vehicles does not exceed 70 feet.
5. The driver is at least 18 years of age.
6. No travel within the Twin Cities metro area during weekday rush hour times. 6-8:30am 3:30-6pm
7. No permit is available for a combination that does not meet the above criteria.
