I work out of my truck (2004 f350) and between the seat belt warning and the doors locking every time I move i'm about to loose my mind.
I'm in and out of the truck and moving short distances often so the seat belt warning tone is always dinging, also carry work related stuff on the cargo rack on the floor behind the seat. I would like to have a nickel for every time I have had to walk back around to the drivers side to hit the unlock switch. (I could have bought a new camper by now). Has anyone disconnected these systems?

My guess is your Ford manual will give a procedure to disable the dings and auto lock. MIne does, but I didnt bother so far.

You've gone and done it now, PATDSD "People Against the Disabling of Safety Devises" will pay you a visit by the end of the day.

The manual does tell you how to diasble the dings but it is not a permanent fix. Tried it on my buddies '04 Excursion as he does not wear his seat belt (despite my comments about eatin' glass).

If nothing else You could always locate the chime unit and unplug it.

The instructions for both are in your owners manual. I disabled both of those on my truck.

I know what you mean, my last pickup had the backup sensors and of course towing, everytime you hit reverse, it would start chirping like mad. Then there is the automatic shoulder harness that strangles me if I exit too quick on my old Mazda!

The next imposition we'll have to overcome will be the new CAFE standards.

There should be a blurb in your owners manual telling you how to turn off the automatic door locks. I did on my Explorer. I don't think there is a way to disarm the seatbelt chime except for removing it.
