It's making me crazy! There is always water dripping from the city water hose connection on the TT.The hose is not hooked up. I have pulled the screen and pushed in the check valve and have opened all the faucets inside. THERE IS STILL WATER LEAKING.The DW is haunting me about it. Any ideas? Thanks

There could be a scratch in the check valve. A quick cure would be to go the hardware store and by a brass plug or cap, depending on the fitting and putting that in the fitting. That should quite it down. In the spring you can replace the check valve or continue using the cap. Bill

Replace the screen and rubber washer (They are one unit). The washers have a tendency to dry out.

Rather than fight that battle, just a hose end plug and plug ti when not connected to water.

I got rid of my check valve and installed a 1/4 turn ball valve in there... No more winterizing worries and full flow through the city water connection too as I also bored out the check valve passage way to a full 1/2" diameter...

Even if it doesn't drip, you still need to use a cap or plug in the fitting to keep creepy crawlies from getting into your water line.

If you pushed in on the check valve behind the screen...and there was any pressure at all...you may have to reset your valve. Under any pressure...they can unseat when you push in on them...which would cause it to drip/leak.
Basically, the valve has to be taken apart.

This must be the problem of the week. I tried pushing in and resetting my check valve, no luck...can anyone give me directions and ideas about how to replace or fix it from that point?

Replace the whole unit. It's a cheap part and it only takes four screws, some caulking and plumbers tape.
