The basic speed Limit is 45 MPH ! We spend about 3 weeks around and on the BRP each, year home base in NC . Go with the toad keep the MH at a campground. Having to cross the center line is a risky scheme .

We drove the complete BRP last Fall. They were in the process of trimming trees in many locations. I had not problem with tree limbs.
The Fall before we drove the complete Skyline Drive. No problems.
These are great drives, especially in the Fall leaf season. Don't let any negative comments discourage you from driving both the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Skyline drive.

I have driven all of the Skyline drive and some of the BRP too but not all the way to the south many times. Yes there are a couple branches but it is not a big deal. Now I live about 6 miles fromt he entrance of the Skyline Drive and it is very pretty but try to go mid week especially in leaf season. I will say the bornfree is easier but I have done it in the Foretravel too.

I have driven both and have not had a problem. We took the Blue Ridge Pkwy from VA. all the way down to NC. and it was beautiful. We took it mid week to avoid the traffic and it was great. I would do it again and may do it this fall.

Thanks for the correction. I guess it seemed shorter in the Vette, not that I ever exceeded 35mph.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned about clearance problems with the southern part of the Parkway in the tunnels. I know when we tried the southern approach from Cherokee we had to turn around because of low clearance at one of the tunnels.
