We own a 2-month-old Quicksilver 8.0. I noticed after our first camping trip some black lines on one part of the tent interior just right of the door over the forward bed. I wiped them off with soap and water. After our next trip they were back. I figured that was part of owning a fold down trailer and just accepted it. Last week we camped for a week in several spots. After each take down and set up there were more and more marks, all in the same section of the camper. After closer inspection I can see there are about 4-5 small slits in the tent fabric at some of the marks. I've contacted the dealer this morning and he is forwarding them to Livin' Lite since it is obviously under warranty. I can't see what is causing this but there must be a defect somewhere where something is pinching or slitting the tent. We are very careful in setup and take down. There are no marks anywhere else on the interior. I hope this is resolved in a quick and efficient manner. Anyone have warranty work done on their Quicksilver?

We did get a couple of black marks (probably from the bimini poles rubbing on the tent as we packed up), but nothing was torn.

Might be a sharp edge on one of the hinges?

The black is tranish from the poles. I see it all the time on the chip trailers we haul where the tarp touches the upper crossmembers.

The black marks don't bother me, but the slices through the tent on the black marks do. I wonder if there is a sharp edge somewhere on the poles. It's under warranty, so I am going to let them figure it out and get it fixed.

The slices on the black marks are rub throughs where the poles have rubbed through when the canvas has been pinched up against the poles and something else. This happens while traveling.

In reveiwing the set up video online, I see they pull the canvas outwards then flip the hang out sections on top of the fold down last before flipping the beds. Could this be caused by not folding away properly?

Be sure to get photos. That should expedite the warranty.

Yes, I took pictures and the dealer forwarded them to Livin' Lite. We closely follow the setup and take down instructions very carefully, and yes there is the extra material over the side that we then flip inward. We've only had this camper 9 weeks - it's been used 6 nights. I can't see where we should be experiencing any "rub throughs" while traveling for this short of time. Plus it's only happening in one place on the camper - there aren't even any black marks anywhere else on the camper except in this one 3x5 foot area. That tells me there is something going on in that part of the camper that isn't right. One other thing is that the places with the slits are not where the poles touch the tent.

We bought a Quicksilver based on how well they are built and how bullet-proof everyone told us they are. We certainly hoped the tent would last longer than 2 months! This is disappointing, but hopefully they replace it and find the problem without issue. Guess we will find out how well they stand behind their product.

Please do a follow up post on this, as I am interested in the Quicksilver and am considering getting one next spring.

It sounds like you are following all manufacturer instructions. Does not sound like a user error to me.

I sure hope Livin' Lite is helpful -- please keep us posted.

Sorry this happened...
