You do not have to up grade the coach to 50 amp. Simply bring out a separate 20 amp circuit for the added A/C.

You could run a heavy (12 gauge) extension cord, or add a 15 or 20 amp outlet that plugs into the pole separately. Most posts have extra 15 or 20 amp outlets on them.

That is only about a 10% difference.. And in technology class they tell us 10% more or less = nothing.
I'd do two things
First visit this web page http://www.psrv.net Now I do not recommend you buy (or not buy) their product, but look at it, I built my own (easy to do) which is based on the same concept.
Then put in another 13.5 AC (or even a bit smaller if you can find one) hooked to the PSRV device or something like it
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

Thanks for all the advice and the link. I'm gonna talk to the dealer this week and see what we can do the cheapest. I don't think I'll bother spending the money one upgrading, rather I'll see about adding another.

Adding another a/c is a VERY expensive option in my case. It's not wired for it and the dealer says I could not run both on the 30A. I'd either have to upgrade to 50A or run a new 30A cord for the new a/c.
Guess I'll look into alternatives.

I just purchased a 10000 btu portable air conditioner from Home Depot for $399 - they also have an 8000 btu for $299 - IF you have the space to store it the it would be a great alternative - comes with a vent kit that fits into a window - about 4" wide and adjustable to the depth of the window.
The 10k one takes 12 amps - so you can run your roof air and this one on 30amps - if you went for the small one, it runs at 8 amps.

That looks like a good idea stevelv. Our main concern is that the roof a/c doesn't really cool the back bedroom much. I could put the portable one back there.
How does it cool? Do you think that I could get by with the 8000btu one back there? Thanks

Maximize the efficiency of the one you already have by reducing the work that it has to do. A start would be to have the windows deep tinted, covering the vents with the pillows from C/W, making sure your RV is sealed properly (no air leaks), your A/C coils and vents are clean, clean filter, etc......
Anything over 30' IMHO needs 2 A/C's. Our last 5er had 1 A/C and I swore that our next one would have 2 and it does. 2 - 15K by the way.

Good idea except I don't want to tint the windows too much. I bought those vent covers from C/W but with two of my vents, the opening was not deep enough for them to stay in. A/c has been cleaned.

Check out my thread in the Class A section on using solar film on the OUTSIDE of the glass - makes a huge difference and is cheap.
The 8k and 10k units are the same size - I was thinking about amps when I suggested the 8. The unit sucks air through a filter at the back, cools it and blows it out the top - it has a remote control too which is neat. There is a pipe similar to a washer/dryer vent pipe that goes to a plate that you fit into a window opening (very neat looking) that ejects the hot air out. It's quieter than my roof ac.
We have two slides in the front and it cools that area down so you'll be fine with one in the bedroom.
