Well, decided to start closing the pool today, finish it up tomrrow morning w/cover.
The impending storms coming our way this weekend decided it for me, no use keeping it open with heavy winds and rains coming...another season in the books!
It's beer break time and US Open tennis time now...gotta let the winterizing chemicals circulate...

1 small freshly shucked raw oyster with its juice*
1 ounce ice cold high-quality Vodka**
Dash of Tabasco sauce or your favorite hot sauce/cocktail sauce
Squeeze of fresh-squeezed lemon juice
* If you can't find small oysters, cut oysters into smaller pieces.
** By chilling the vodka, it acquires a thick, silky texture.
Place oyster and its liquor (juice) in bottom of a chilled martini or shot glass (any small glass may be used). Pour in Vodka; add Tabasco Sauce and lemon juice. Drink as a shot, allowing oyster to slide down your throat, try not to chew. Enjoy!
OR
Ingredients
1 lime wedge
1 large oyster, in the shell
1 dash Tabasco sauce
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
fresh ground black pepper
1/4-1/2 teaspoon prepared horseradish
1 dash seafood cocktail sauce
Directions
1 - Squeeze the lime juice into a shot glass.
2 - Shuck the oyster and slide it into the glass, juices and all.
3 - Add the remaining ingredients in the order listed and enjoy in a single bite.
4 - Repeat as needed.
I like number 4...

I'm still pumping down the pool...got the big spotlight that grew into the tree I mounted it on years ago on...only comes on when doing night work on the pool...not a big light person! My dry well doesn't drain well enough, guess I didn't dig it deep enough...so the water flows out onto the new neighbor's property...just rough ground cover but I like to pump it out at night so they don't see it.
Will finish the pump down soon, then the rest of the closing will be done tomorrow morning...got to blow out the lines w/air compressor, don't think the new neighbors behind us want to hear that at 10:00 pm!
Mike, I just noticed the second recipe is missing the vodka...yikes! You know what to do...

I think I would need 3 bottles of vodka just to get those oysters down!
** By chilling the vodka, it acquires a thick, silky texture. **
Why does this sound non-appetizing to me? I'm thinking you better just take those oysters and put them in the magic bullet, Mikey! Hey, maybe add some watermelon to kill the oyster taste! lol! Watermelon goes good with drinks, right Mike? Mike? Mike... get your head off the floor, you've fallen again.
