Perhaps a weak joint is leaking from an extreme overpressure. This can often be resolved by re-establishing the required airspace at the top of the tank. It acts as an accumulator of sorts "absorbing" excess pressure.

Turn off the pump, disconnect from city water, and let the tank cool down so you don't get burned or scald the paint. Open the PT valve at the top and remove the lower plug. As the water drains from the plug, air will get sucked into the PT valve. When the gurgling stops at the valve, close the valve and replace the plug. Repeat this periodically (every few months).

It could be coming from somewhere else!
How close it to the toilet? The water valves like to leak on many Thetford toilets.
