Today I will officially pass to retirement as a TV our well keep Suburban k1500 1999 w/109k miles. I don't have any complains about the suburban, it have been a very good car and It will be until I find a buyer that will take the burban to a new home.
I will welcome, a new to me Silverado 2003 2500HD Diesel to take over the hard work of pulling our Jayco 27BH. It is just nice not to worry about weight and be over the limit. I will need just to get used to all the new noises from the Duramax and his turbo, and the different shift gears from the Allison. Well I guess that I will survive.

I'm very HAPPY!!!!!!!!

I went from a '99 5.3 1500 Silverado to TV in my sig. I've never looked back and couldn't be more happy! Welcome to the diesel fraternity! Now you to will have the perpetual grin of diesel pulling power.

Happy towing!

The dark side is so interesting. Just do not get swayed into more trailer than the truck can handle. That is all too easy to happen when you feel all that power at your command.

Although there are some of us who prefer the sound of a nicely revved gas engine(4-5000), over the rattly sound of a diesel!!

I am in that camp as well. I will also say, IF his new 2003 3/4 ton diesel doesn't outperform the 1/2 Ton Sub, something is wrong. It will be louder and fuel will cost more, and pumps will be messier.. etc. etc. etc....., but it should out pull the Sub.

We like our 05 duramax but still remember the sound and feel of the 01 8.1 gas engine.

The Duramax is very "car like" My 03 LT is sweet, and it's not loud but it does take a while to get used to that extra gear.

Actually, that wasn't a very nice comment by me, so I deleted it.
