Looking to purchase an auxiliary fuel tank for my F450 so we can get some extra distance while pulling the 5er. Does anybody have one of these and if so what brands have you had luck with and what brands should you stay away from.
Is it better to have on under the truck (change out) for 67 gallons or add one to the bed with a tool box for an extra 60 gallons?
I have found various mfg including; Transfer Flow, RDS, Aero Tank, XXL and I am sure there are more. Aero is located close enough to me that they will do the installation and warranty, but Transfer seems to have a nicer looking product.

Go to www.tourtank.com . These folks make a wonderful product real quality. I bought a 3.5 gal tank for the wifes bike and I was amazed at the quality. I have inquired into a tank myself and I think he said he makes a 20 gal max. Might ask him if he could make a larger one
Good luck

You may want to do a search on auxiliary tanks. There has been a lot written here about them. I have the 90 gallon RDS gravity fed model. Works great and much less expensive than the Transfer Flow.

KSH, KSH fuel products/KSH marine in Havasu City. Great product with many choices. We have the 50 gal low profile so we can install the bed cover when we are not pulling the 5er. They also have a tool box/fuel tank comb. They were having a little site trouble when I pulled up the info. Stay with them, they are great. I drove up in the morning, have to get there by noon, and I was installed and driving home late afternoon. Long day, but only one day. I now have a total of 86 gals of fuel on-board. Winter they are very busy with the Quartzsite, AZ. crowd, so the one day thing is harder to do. Get it now, don't wait until winter. Not cheap. But I have a low profile tank, dash transfer switch, fuel gauge works on both tanks, filters, locking cap and it is not gravity feed. I have a Dodge Ram. AND it looks good if you look inside the box, is not visible just looking at the profile of the truck.

I have the Aero 60 gal midship replacement tank, I did this because I wanted to keep the bed clear for things I do not want to carry in the trailer I.E. compressor, firewood, racing fuel, ECT.

I have the transfer flow in my F-450. It is a 50 gallon tank and fits under the cover. I like how it operates. The control module also gives you how much fuel is in the main tank, the transfer flow and the combined. It is not the cheapest unit on the market, but I do believe it is one of the best. Here are a couple of photos of it and the cover.

Northern Tool pretty much has the market for selling the RDS line of tanks. There is a company down in Santee that sells the RDS brand but they are marking them up pretty high. Your better off buying from Northern Tool if you like the RDS line. Transfer Flow is a nice tank, but pricey. I've been looking at the RDS real serious here lately and I'm going to the 91 gal model. That gives me 125 gallons of fuel. I hate stopping for fuel, its bad enough pulling over ever 30mins for the wife and cat to pee

I have the same setup as desielgem, (70 gal.) wish I would have used the underbed so I could have used a Truck camper occasionally so I could take my boat. Had my tank installed at Transfer and they are very professional.

A second vote for Aerotanks. I removed the stock 35-gallon tank in my Dodge and installed the Aerotanks 60-gallon tank. I didn't want an in-bed tank because I didn't want to give up valuable real estate in the truck bed.
Installation took two guys a couple of hours.
