Be carefull if you go to Mexico with the in bed tanks. Had an individual that went to Mexico to fill his truck up and had it inpounded because they thought he was going to sell the fuel in the inbed tank after he got to the US. Let him have his truck back after he emptied the tank.

From personal experience, stay away from a steel tank, and go with aluminum. I had a 50 gal Handy tank from Northern tool that was really nice, but, as you probably know, diesel has a certain amount of moisture, and steel and moisture equals rust eventually. On a haul from down south, my truck began sputtering on the aux tank, with 3/4 tank of fuel. I switched to the truck tank, and it smoothed right out. Inspection showed the fuel filter on the aux tank line had become plugged with rust. I swapped it for a RDS 33 gal fuel/tool combo made of diamond plate aluminum, and am very pleased with it. Does not take up as much room, and with the main tank I can still carry 60+ gal., which is more than I will drive on any given day.

We had an Excursion before this truck. Going from a 44-gallon tank to a 26-gallon tank plain sucked!

With the larger trailer we are now hauling we knew the safest thing for us was a larger tank.

We put in the Transfer-Flow replacement tank. 45-gallons and you don't see the tank. No more worries about running out of fuel. I get to decide where I want to stop for fuel (truck-stops with easy on/off access.)

For me, I view it as a savings / safety item. If I had to keep a 26-gallon tank full, I would always be pulling off the freeway and would probably have hit something by now. This keeps me on the road longer and I can pull over at large truck stops and avoid the pitfalls of a standard gas station.

My Transfer-Flow has worked well. I like the replacement tank to keep my truck bed for hauling things.

Titan makes a decent fuel tank to replace the OEM.I just like the idea of having it out of sight as I use the bed of my truck.Looks like they make a 60 gal for your truck.Good Luck

From Northern Tool 91 gallons with a small tool box on top. Gravity fed. I installed it myself and believe me I am not an expert. It says that it is a 91 gallon, however, it only took 91 gallons the first time I filled it, all other times, when it indicated it was empty it took some 70 plus gallons. It was worth the money for not having to stop every 250 miles trying to find a fuel station that I could fit into and if they had ULSD.

A second vote for Aerotanks. I removed the stock 35-gallon tank in my Dodge and installed the Aerotanks 60-gallon tank. I didn't want an in-bed tank because I didn't want to give up valuable real estate in the truck bed.

Installation took two guys a couple of hours.

I went with the 50 gallon titan tank, no problems. Made out of the same material as the stock tank, no metal, no rust.

I went with the Transflow 57 gallon which replaced the stock tank. The only issue is the Distance to Empty is not happy. Works great, very high quality and did not use any space in the bed of the truck.
