Northern Tool pretty much has the market for selling the RDS line of tanks. There is a company down in Santee that sells the RDS brand but they are marking them up pretty high. Your better off buying from Northern Tool if you like the RDS line. Transfer Flow is a nice tank, but pricey. I've been looking at the RDS real serious here lately and I'm going to the 91 gal model. That gives me 125 gallons of fuel. I hate stopping for fuel, its bad enough pulling over ever 30mins for the wife and cat to pee

Nationwide Wholesale Direct is cheaper than Northern Tool. The 91 gallon combo is $30 less and came direct to me from RDS.

Great input, very appreciated. Love how soembody said they thought the guys at Aero are odd (I have not been there yet). I think I am going with the Aero 67 replacement under the bed so I can leave the bed for hauling stuff like fire wood or future toys (small quad) for the kids. I figure I would have to fill up no matter what at least one way so at least I can choose when. We usually only go (with the exception of Mexico this year) 200 to 300 miles out anyway.

Anybody know how the distance to empty reads when you have a replacement tank? Is it still accurate.

Dieselgem what kind of mileage are you getting in your 450? I think you have the same trailer as I do (KZ 40 footer).

You did this at the border? Are they still having issue with So Cal filling up in TJ?

I'm the one who thought they were a bit odd, tell me what you think after your installation.

On my Dodge when the low fuel light comes on I still have 11 gallons in the tank.

I went with the 30 gallon RDS model 71804 and the auto transfer fitting that goes in the stock filler tube. Works awesome! Took about two hours to install. Did loose some bed space in front of the fifth wheel but that was only used for firewood anyway, now just stack it on top of the diamond plate tank. Highly recommend this setup. Now with my shortbed I can haul close to 60 gallons. The computer doesn't like it if you're not towing and will drop the gage to empty after a 100+ miles but it resets as soon as the main tank starts to drain.

Lots cheaper than the replacement tank and you can take it with you.

One word of warning, Northern would not ship this tank to CA. Had to drop ship it to my buddy in NV who was heading down here.

I crossed at over at tecate with a friend of mine who goes about 3 times a week. Its a little less conjested in tecate as it is in tj. $20 takes care of any issues with the gas attendents. That was my first time, and I would not hesitate to do it again.

Transfer Flow... gets it out of the bed and under the truck. It is a bit higher priced... but seems worth it. Safe and effective!!

I sucked it up yesterday and ordered the 91gal RDS aux. tank and tank flow system from Nationwide Wholesale. Total was $843.00. I'm not one bit worried about the loss of bed space, the truck is used for towing not work. To not have to stop every 300 miles is a huge plus for me. If I see a station with a good price on fuel I'll stock up. I can make it damn near across half the country now.

Congrats on the purchase. I love my 45-gallon Transfer-Flow and I'm sure you'll love this new tank of yours.

It is great to hit the road with a cooler behind you in the truck with a couple sodas and snacks and not have to stop until you get there, gotta P or need more fuel.

Enjoy the new tank!
