just yesterday I pulled my 98 gallon transfer flow tank. Didn't use it enough and it takes up so much space. If I had to do it all over again I would get a gravity fed tank that I could remove when I was not using it.

Dieselgem what kind of mileage are you getting in your 450? I think you have the same trailer as I do (KZ 40 footer).

I have been getting about 8.6 at a sweet point of 57mph loaded up. The hauler is a CKS41.

Dieselgem, I think I get about 7 when towing (staying under 60). Do you have a programmer or any add ons? Ours is the 40P.

KSH, KSH fuel products/KSH marine in Havasu City. Great product with many choices. We have the 50 gal low profile so we can install the bed cover when we are not pulling the 5er. They also have a tool box/fuel tank comb. They were having a little site trouble when I pulled up the info. Stay with them, they are great. I drove up in the morning, have to get there by noon, and I was installed and driving home late afternoon. Long day, but only one day. I now have a total of 86 gals of fuel on-board. Winter they are very busy with the Quartzsite, AZ. crowd, so the one day thing is harder to do. Get it now, don't wait until winter. Not cheap. But I have a low profile tank, dash transfer switch, fuel gauge works on both tanks, filters, locking cap and it is not gravity feed. I have a Dodge Ram. AND it looks good if you look inside the box, is not visible just looking at the profile of the truck.

I also used the KSH 50 gallon in bed. Nice installation.. I live in Havasu so not a bad commute

I sucked it up yesterday and ordered the 91gal RDS aux. tank and tank flow system from Nationwide Wholesale. Total was $843.00. I'm not one bit worried about the loss of bed space, the truck is used for towing not work. To not have to stop every 300 miles is a huge plus for me. If I see a station with a good price on fuel I'll stock up. I can make it damn near across half the country now.

Maybe this will help with the install. http://www.rocketcityrockcrawlers.com/bi........an_Aux_Fuel_Tank_paper_2007-06-18_R1.pdf

Good luck.

For those that have the northern tool gravity system. i have a tank, but was wondering if it is worth it to get the gravity feed kit from northern. is it just a simple tee into the filler tube or is there some special valve, to keep it from overfilling and splashing out. i am just wondering if it is worth the 70.00 bucks or can i just splice into the fill hose with a tee and connect my aux tank.

thanks

Al, I saw that on another thread and printed it out. Great write up. It will be a big help when installing the filter. Thanks for the great info.

My buddies truck was just impounded coming from Mexico at Otay, I guess mexico came up with a new law and you can not bring fuel back across in transfer tanks. So they fined him $175 and took his truck for a day and drained his xfer tank. Cross at your own risk!

If you look at the NT/RDS gravity feed kit closely, you'll see the valve coming out the top of the large tee in the center of the pic (it's also in the paper I posted above you post). This tee has a ball/check valve that stops fuel flow when the tank fuel level reaches the valve. Without this type valve, fuel will continue to flow, possible coming out at the OEM fill cap.

Well worth it for the piece of mind, IMO.

Good luck.

There is a special check valve that keeps from overfilling the main tank, it's not just a simple T. Well worth the 70.00 IMO. Took about 1 hour to cut it in and it works exactly as advertised.

Thanks, al

thats what i wanted to know iam going to get one ordered tosay. what size of hose does it use going into the tee? im guessing its prob 3/8 or 5/16. i still need to weld a fitting in the bottom of my aux tank and i was wondering what size to go with. i was hoping to get it all set up before the gravity feed kit gets here.

thanks
