Well, since you have convinced yourself that you absolutely must have a programmer and since you asked here, then go over to here; www.dieselplace.com and ask the question or simply nose around a bit. This is the GM diesel place and there is a lot of information to be had.

A friend just got a Predator for his 03 DA and he loves it. It was used ($120) and he used a hacker program to vin unlock it. The 85hp program is supposed to be safe. He hasn't towed yet but the 85hp REALLY help it unloaded. Craig

JMHO that's alot of camper!!! again JMHO but to me the the TV and 5er don't match up well. pulled these off the winner's circle web site. being close to maxing out your DMAX is a bit of an understatement. At one time had a TV that was close to maxed out. after almost losing the whole thing at 60mph i looked in the back seat, saw my two kids, 5 and 3 at the time, and got the TV I have on my sign now. good luck and be careful. PS situation was on interstate hit a bad spot, and all hell broke loose on that beautiful sun shiny day. this was not intended to be neg. just be safe!!!

The correct numbers for the 08 are
Dimensions & Capacities
Unloaded Vehicle Weight 10945 Lbs
Cargo Area Length 12'
Hitch Dry Weight 2,588 Lbs
GVWR 15,550 Lbs
Net Cargo Capacity 4,556 Lbs
Exterior Width 102"
Exterior Length 39' 4"
Exterior Height 12' 10"
Fresh Water Capacity 104 Gallon
It's big, but not very heavy. Good unit to parasale with though. I'm running E rated Toyos and I am having Firestone airbags installed to help with the hitch weight.
Truck is rated to 15500#. I know the hitch is heavy. Having Firestones added to help with that. I have had 3000lbs of lumber in the bed and it simply leveled out the truck. Actually rode better with the weight on it. Now.........can it handle that weight and towing 10K+. That's why I'm looking at programmers.

Wish I knew what he said about it towing. I have heard they are decent, but sometimes the EGTs get up there when hauling a heavy load. I'll have to check on those again to see if they are still the same.

Mav,
I have an 02 D/A and run a hypertech. My TT is around the 9k mark, so not nearly as heavy as yours. I, too, am a member on dieselplace and have read a lot of comments about PPE...mostly positive. Personaly, I'm happy with my hypertech. Gives me a little more kick but is a very "safe" tune. I wasn't after any hot rodding tune or something that would black out my neighborhood. Not my thing, so the hypertech was a good fit. As you already probably know, keep it under 100hp and you should be good.
To me, the biggest upgrade I made was my exhaust ... my egts dropped considerably from stock exhaust. I left the intake alone as the stock setup flows more than enough if your under 500 hp.
Hope that helps ...
