Couple of things done to our Ragen FA 3005
Stinky Slinky Storage by dump Valves using 1/2 of a 5" PVC Fence post, matching cap, stainless steel hingle/hardware, plumbers strap, and velcro to keep closed.
Threaded fitting to enable a garden hose attachment to the fresh water dump -to water the yard
Message and Note Center - Flashlight Storage
pulled the plywood off the interior wall of pantry to glue backup wood strips for attachment and provide access for installation of TriMetric Battery monitor wiring in near future. The area by the converter under pantry is not utilized for anything by factory....
Kitchen Drawer
Top kitchen drawer from factory is a joke in size....
My remedy using drawer slides from the orange clown store
Just finished doing an axle flip and greaseable suspension in the driveway but no pictures. Monroe shocks on the way from Stengel Bros to replace the wimpy stock units that won't work with the flip.
Can't ride my dirt scooter due to broken wrist so been busy on the hauler....

How much work was the axle flip and how much height clearance did you gain?

Depends on which position you install shackle bolts and equalizer. There are two sets of holes on the Ragen.
On this trailer about 6" in the tall position -about 4" in the short position.
Remember have one good hand and a splint on the other so it was slow going but if you have the tools -enough jack stands/jacks/level paved location and skill should be able to do in 5-8 hours. I also installed Dexter HD suspension with bronze bushings and wet shackle bolts at the same time. The most time consuming parts are using a Brake Pin/Ball Joint C-Clamp press to push all the bronze bushing in place and seat the splined shackle pin bolts properly.
The factory installation didn't install any of the spline shackle bolts properly either -all of them were loose - looked like the factory tried to use the "set them with the impact wrench routine" that never works very well in my experience but is fast.
FYI to all you people out there- the nylon bushings in the spring eyes and equalizers on my 2008 model trailer were worn quite a bit in less than 2K miles

Thanks for the "heads up" on the shackle bolts! Do you know what frame it is?
Do you think the nylon bushings wore prematurely due to the loose shackle bolts?
Do you recall what they should be tightend too? Three beers with a good tug?

Lippert Frame with Alko Kober 6K axles with 35" spread

Yes to an extent but the nylon bushing dry bolt system is a joke in our applications due to the stresses
Do you recall what they should be tightend too? Three beers with a good tug?
50-60 Lb Ft without the spline end of bolt rotating

Good info. mapguy, same rig here, one year older, gonna check the shackle, equalizer bushings soon. Not too clear on your bushing upgrade, is that a "kit" that can be bought?
I pulled the inside panel off my pantry as well. nailed/glued 1/2" plywood instead and mounted a 23" flat screen where you have your message board, ran the wires up through the pantry and over to the regular location. Works great, no more sore neck looking up at the stock TV hole.

Dexter HD Suspension Kit
Has bronze bushing and beefy shackle links (side plates) with wet bolts for greasing. Alko and Lippert both offer the same stuff but the shackle links aren't beefy like the Dexter stuff. The Dexter Shackle plates are pre-pressed with bolts and are about 2 times thicker material than the stock stuff.
Dexter Kit If you are going to buy one of these kits -there are cheaper places/ways to buy than direct from Dexter.
Agree the stock TV hole sucks especially with the Pyle LCD TV's we got that have small viewing angle.
