I believe you were given the wrong information, or misunderstood. We've had no problem reserving a spot in a pet loop before (although we do call very far in advance).

I love FW's policy of having pet-specific loops. I wish all campgrounds would adopt it. It would make for a much more peaceful co-existence between us pet-owning RV'ers and those who would prefer to not be around them. Although my dogs are mostly well behaved and rarely bark, it's nice being in a pet loop amongst pet savvy people, and knowing that an occasional woof isn't going to get anyone's knickers in a knot.

Several posts have been deleted from this thread already. Let's please NOT make this into a pro/con dog issue.

Stay at tropical palms in Kissimmee, no such nonsense, nice park and it also has shuttles to Disney and all the surrounding parks. Pool is nice but just make sure you get a super site (concrete) and not one of the grass sites in the rear. If it rains they have a tendency to flood.

Call again, my bet is that if you get a different person, you will get a different answer.
This has happened to us in the past. I didn't like how it worked out so I thanked them and hung up. Called about an hour later, got a different person and it worked out just fine.

We stay there 4 to 6 times a year with a dog and they always have had a pet site. Last time they put us on a non pet site and I went back and told them we have a dog (one I hope passes on soon as we inherited it) and they had a site a manager had to release to put us in the pet area as they seem to keep a few extra pet sites available. Good luck

I stay at FW a couple times a year. I have always been asked if traveling with pets,at time of reservation which I don't. However, there is a restriction which requires pets to stay within pet loops at ALL TIMES.I know at least one pet owner who felt he/she was better than the rules as I stepped into a pile in a non-pet area and did not realize it until I tracked it onto my indoor/outdoor carpeting and floor of my HTT. As far as requesting specific loops, I always request a specific loop and so far have always gotten it, just NOT SPECIFIC SITES!! I'd call back and see what you find out from another reservation agent.

I think that there was a communication problem between you and the clerk. What the clerk was trying to say was that they could not make you a reservation in the pet loop for the period you specified (ie, no vacancies), but you could make a resevation in the non-pet loop and upon arrival see if they had a pet-loop site available... if not you would have to kennel the dogs.

I agree with some of the posters who advised to call back. Sounds like you got an inexperienced employee who misunderstands their own policy. To not allow you to reserve a pet friendly site is ludicrous......especially if he/she is basically stating that you can still reserve a NON-pet friendly site!
