I use 3/8" grade 80 trucker/logger/tow chain. I buy in long lengths and cut into shorter lengths as needed. Fastest way to cut is with a 3" air cut-off tool, or with a 1/16" cut-off wheel in a 4" angle grinder, with the chain held in a vice.

You can get the heavy truckers chains on sale at harbor freight for like $20.

They make a lot of noise too when you move them around...

Mine came with the trailer. Its handy but epensive to buy one seperatly

Mine came on the trailer. Don't know if I would have bought one separate, but now that I have it, I love it. It's a lot more convenient than a separate cable and I always know where it is, and keep my lock locked onto it so I always know where that is.
