Its just a gimmic to get you on the lot, and then its called flip them to another Truck. Its been then for years, however with all the rebates now is the best time to buy a Truck or Car. I don't even need a Truck but if I can buy one in the $30,000 range and it would have to be a Diesel I might just buy another Truck. I want believe all this until see a bill of sale. GBY....

I have read the "lifetime" warranty on the gas engines can be a tough one to persue unless DC does all the maintenace and service work on the vehicle. Anyone know first hand rather that is true or not? I could see where they could use that as an out if they wanted to.

I would believe it. From other posts I've read on a couple Dodge sites, they have gotten more stringent on the enforcement of the terms of the other warranties.

I read my warranty book in detail. All it says is you have to bring it in every 5 years for an "inspection." Whatever the heck that means. Believe me, I have it in my calendar, already to do that. Also, I planned to keep the truck 10 years plus...or forever, hell lifetime warranty, baby! And we are keeping every record. The truck only has 2K miles on it....
Oh and in terms of service and repairs, I am bringing it to the dealer no matter what anyway. They are 2 blocks from where I work. Warranty states to maintain vehicle per manual (timeframes). If I keep records, I should be fine...just like the IRS recommends. No issue.

Not everybody gets the best truck..there are some who go for price....

Just another Gimmick(and all manufacturers have them) Look at the $2.99 A gallon gas deal. The people that fell for that paid list on their vehicle, to get A locked in price on gas. WOW gas here today is $3.21 A gallon for reg.
List price on A truck for A deal on gas go figure!

I wonder what the dealer prep charges, undercoating, rust protection, freight charges, ultra lowball trade, filling out paperwork, etc. that 40% off carries. When car dealers open their mouth.......
Dodge advertised 2 cars for the price of one here in Atlanta area a couple of weeks ago.

A coworker is in the process right now of purchasing a new 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 ST, 2WD, short bed regular cab V6 automatic. Window sticker is $24,500, and he is getting it for 50% off MSRP (plus tax, title, and license tags). I believe the drive out the door amount is around $13,500 which includes the TT&L.

Picked up my new 2007.5 SLT quad cab 6.7 cummins for $28,000 last week. The msrp was $45,490 so they are dealin! here's a pic

I noticed to get the 44% off MSRP you must like a stripped down model with rollup windows, standard shift, with rubber floor mats, 6 cylinder gasser, no hubcaps, no sign of chrome anywhere. Think it does have a heater! It is a what the industry calls a "hook" to get you on the lot. Probably each dealership got one just to say they have one.
