Hybrid? TT that just pops upward and not out? Links to pics?
My friend has a TT that pops upward so the top 1/3 or so is tent like a pop up, but it doesn't have the pop outs on the ends. It is a 93 and not made anymore, but she can't remember any details off hand. We might be able to get this super cheap as the roof needs repair. (But it is 10 years newer and sounds like less work than what we need to do to ours.) We'll be going over to look at it when we get a chance, but I was hoping to do a little web research, but I don't even know what one of these are called or common brands or...? to google. Can anyone help me out?

My guess would be a Palomino Thoroughbred. Had one and it was an Ok trailer. Had a few quirks but don't they all. You might contact Palomino and see if they have any old literature on them.

There were a few mfgs who sold these during the first half of the 1990's (Palomino, Viking, Sun-Lite). They haven't sold them in quite a while in the US, but as stated above, SunLite is re-introducing them soon!
I do know that these "pop-tops" are still sold in other areas. Jayco sells them in Australia, and are quite popuplar. In fact, they sell them with & without bunk ends.
Very interesting! I like the Jayco Expanda line myself.

Problem is Jayco Australia ,is not part of Jayco US, it is not a subsidiary or owned by them.Established as a separate company and has no connections with Jayco US.

Hmmmm.....very interesting. I did not know that. That's ashame. In this day of rising gas prices, the "poptop" might actually find a home this time around. Especially the hybrid models. Less wind resistance, yet many of the attributes that many enjoy by moving from a popup to a hybrid. Thanks for the info RobertRyan!
