It would appear our new TT did not come with an amplified antenna. The plugs inside have the 12V receptical and the coax jack, but no led or switch to turn on power. Judging from reception on our last trip it is not an internally amped antenna either. I have the instructions and they appear to say all I need to do is get a new wall plate assembly with the power button and I should be in business. Any ideas or personal experiences out there before I spend money??

Keith did you check all the coax outlets, mine is in the frt bed room not in the main part of the TT. I just happened to find it about three days into our first trip. Check around it may be there.

If not then it should just be a simple swap out.

I have had mine go bad from a lightning strike I went to my RV
dealer and got the wall plate part you are talking about took a few minutes to install, and my TV was back in business, I don't remember the exact cost but was under $30 dollars I think but that was a few years back, I hope the rest of it is in the top part as it cost more,,,,,

That power supply (the amp is up in the antenna), as another poster mentioned, is most likely in another area. Mine was hidden in the bedroom way up on the wall in back of the TV shelf.
I have also seen some in cabinets near the TV shelves.

I see that Wingard does make the Sensar antenna in a non-amplified model but every manufacturer I have seen has used the amplified model.

BTW, since the amp is located in the antenna, if you find that yours is NOT the amplified model, just adding the wall-plate power supply will not do anything. You will need a new head as well.

What I do know is the outlets for the master bedroom and the bunk area are just 12V wallplates with coax inputs. WHat I can't seem to find is where the antenna supplies the signal for the main living room area TV. All the wires go into the wall and disappear. Maybe tonight I will pull out the subwoofer and see if I can see what is behind the soundsystem head unit as the wires seem to head that direction.

there should be all the information about the antenna you need in the packet that came with the trailer... it won't tell you where they hid the amp switch if it is amplified though... maybe a quick call to the dealer would help...

I can't imagine your '09 Prowler coming with an unamplified antenna... If you don't find it, I'd get on the phone to either the dealer or the Fleetwood folks to see where they hid it.

As was mentioned above, if you do, in fact, have an unamplified antenna on the roof, merely putting in the power supply won't get it for you. There is a definite difference in the amplified vs. unamplified antenna build. That's not to say that you couldn't probably coble something together with a visit to the local Radio Shack, but, my guess is you've got an amplified antenna...finding the switch may be problematic though.

Should be a button next to the 12v outlet. I push that button and it glows green

If you have a distrubution box where you select FRONT TV, REAR TV, DVD, VCR, and then select signal source, like ANTENNA, CABLE, VCR, DVD, SAT, the 12V supply goes directly into that box and supplies the amplification to the Antenna on the roof by supplying 12v from the box through the COAX that goes to the Antenna. There is no switch to turn ON or OFF. Try and read the information that came with the distrubution box or with the Antenna or go to the Wineguarg web site. One other thing to check, did you push MENU on the Television and go to SET UP and select ANTENNA or TV for a signal input source? Could be that it is set for CABLE.

RV-5095 - Non-amplified version of the RV-3095. Use RA-7596 wallplate amplifier to strengthen signal.

The above is from the Winegard site and is pretty much what the manual says. Sound like either antenna can be amplified doesn't it? All I can imagine is that the amplified model does not a power switch?

There is no distribution box that I can find but tomorrow I will likely pull the subwoofer box out and see what lies inside behind the entertainment center. The TV wires all head into the wall behind that area. The TV is set to air. I got reception at home, but I have broadcast stations 10 miles from my house. Camping in NH I got 0 channels. I thought it might be location but other campers had antennas up and I would assume it was because they were getting some reception.
