If we get out there I would not mind getting to know someone that prospects.
I think it would be fun to do some of that this winter.
If I get the "gold fever" maybe I can take a couple of motorcycle rides and get over it?

YEP, just as Dona says "there is no getting over it"
DONA,
i came out of the desert to attend the coin hunts the rest of the time i spend digging holes (then filling in holes) in the desert to find the mother load , figure i ran (average) 20 5 gal buckets a day , sifting it down and panning it out... first 2 months i didn't find a thing, then 1/2 way thru march i started to find some small flakes (god, they are pretty in the sun)
bring a homebuilt puffer with me this year, should be there by jan1,
tell your man to leave some for me. haha
mtnman1989:::::
i have a homebuilt vw trike that we use to travel with but since i found gold i leave the trike at home and use the pickup , cause i can carry more prospecting equipment in it. been a m/c rider for more than 45 years never thought something else would take it's place, but the gooooold did i guess..
have a great day, george

Bullhead City is our place. Lots of desert, and the river. Try the Silverview RV Resort.

Interesting thread. We have been to AZ two of the last three years but found anywhere north of Phoenix pretty darn cold in Jan. and Feb. is that the norm or am I just unlucky? Had health problems last winter so we couldn't go down but the two years before as I said were cold.
Tell me more about prospecting. I think that sounds like something I would like to do. Any web sites or places to get info for a rookie? Thought about getting a metal detector to start. Good or bad idea? I don't think I want to get so involved to have to haul equipment around. all suggestions would help.
Thanx......Rick

I think it would be fun just to go watch someone else do it for awhile.
I have a gold pan, I guess its called a sluice too. I will be sure and bring it when I come out there. We can get around in that desert real good and quick with our small adventure motorcycles.

Hi Ya mtnman
well a gold pan is usually round and a sluice is long and skinny with riffles in it....2 different things... but bring what ya got and when the fever starts y'all will buy or build the rest. the gold life is great.... IT SURE BEATS WORKING FOR MONEY!
respectfully, george
