Gale,

Sounds like you did good. You will enjoy it. Don't forget about those cold nights when it's snowing out. I know you guys don't really get that much, but even when it falls out of the sky, that's good enough. They are the best, enjoy.

another nice thing is that they claimed that you didn't need to provide extra support under the deck. being somewhat chicken, I did put in some jack posts myself.
since mine is at the lake house I tear it down and drain it in the winter so don't know how it would do when really cold.
don't know how you bartered but you evidently did what the fella that bought my inflatable quicksilver boat did, said he had $550 cash in his pocket and if I didn't meet the price of the cheaper inflatable that he had found would stop by and buy the other one.

Two issues developed and one was a quick fix and the other on is going to take many manhours. First when we got it filled we were all excited but found the jets make about as much water movement as a minnow then I remembered the post about how adding air in cooler weather caused some heat lost. Then it it me I had it closed so my son turned the air control valve fully counter clock wise and it like to have beat us to death. We like it at 12 o'clock.

The other issue from the SOFTUB purchase was I decided to put it on a small isolated deck at is about 10% the size of the total treated wood deck. It looks so good now (not black and green) the wife expects me to do the rest.

It is going to take a while to learn the temps we prefer, etc but after 18 hours of working with it we are very pleased. Because of limited movement I was concerned about getting in and especially out of it. With the bottom and top edge being soft makes it pain free unlike I have used.

It was at the 102 degree setting this AM so so far it is working like the manual states it should work.

Bumpy I did in fact only gather up $700 cash and did not plan to go more because for one I was going to be the third owner (last reason was a divorce reason) and I did not know any thing about hot tubs or SOFTUB as a brand before late Saturday evening.

Pen hookers used this to get my dad to sell at the farm vs the market. In my case I really did not know if I wanted a hot tub or not.

getting out is a bit "tight" if you have short legs.
Mine just defaults to 100 degrees but can move it up of course. I don't really know if it would stay at 102 or 104 if I set it there since I rarely move it.

Have had my soft tub for 10 plus years and still enjoy it. Has always been inside. Don't use it as much as I should but its great for achey muscles and when I get a chill. Enjoy. Ron Day

Ron how has the pump and controls held up for those ten years?

I have to say the tub is better than surfing the web for the aches and pains. Mine is about 4 years old but not seen much use until the last year I was told.

I suggested to the wife that we set ours inside where the kitchen table is in front of the dutch doors looking out over the lake but she vetoed my plan.
Incidentally, for reference purposes for any potential buyers, when I bought mine they had three sizes, 4/5/&6 ft or thereabouts. any adequate for one, but I got the middle sized one (220gals?) mainly cause that and the large one both came with a bigger pumping system.

As an update after three months of using the Softub twice a day it seems like it is going to be OK. If it broke I would fix it or get another like it. Being so stiff everthing about the hot tub being soft is a plus for confort. The chemicals turned out not to be so expensive and my son does a good job managing the chemicals by regular testing. I have the large one (300 gallon) and it really is for personal use unless you have no need for personal space. I have enough room to do some range of motion under water with the arms and the legs.
