6 years fulltiming and we have been using Bank of America Online. All income comes into accounts electronically. We have 6 accounts with them, 2 checking, 2 savings 1 IRA and Mastercard. I can easily transfer funds from one account to another. Bank of America has more banks and ATM's than any bank in the U.S. I pay Mastercard by just transferring funds from checking. All other bills are deducted from my checking account as they come in. Only ones not set up to do this are doctors. BOA has a working relationship with Santander Serfin in Mexico and Scotia Bank in Canada where you can use ATM with no charge. We have Datastorm Motosat automatic dish on top of coach which is totally secure and can get online anywhere from Guatemalla to Alaska. We don't use credit cards in MX or Canada as their is foreign fee charge on all cards I know of. You can always get $100 cash when shopping at Walmart.

I've been reading this thread to see if there is something I have missed. Been banking online for close to 15 years starting with third party payment issuers when they first came along. I currently use Quicken and do most of my banking with Bank of America.
I do not use ANY debt card and strongly discourage my financial planning clients from using them as well. They are a greater risk to a banking relationship than open WiFi. I insist that B of A issue me an ATM card with NO debit capability. The card must be used in an ATM machine with the proper PIN to get access to my account and then can take no more than $500 in a day. Since I check balances and transactions online daily I am not likely to get burned for more than the $500 if someone manages to get the card AND my PIN which is not written down anyplace.
For online access I use a Blackberry tethered to my laptop when I cannot get a decent WiFi connection. I have been a Verizon Wireless user since the mid '80's (before they were Verizon Wireless) and am completely satisfied with the coverage they provide.

Thanks again

I put 6K miles on the MH this spring and had aircard coverage via Sprint everywhere I wanted it. Most surprisingly, a lot of it was "high" speed EVDO. I don't even bother with WiFi now.
Cheers,

HI Rich,
About Sprint, I have it as a cell phone only. I seems that there are a lot of no service areas I've been through traveling around the country. Does their aircard have better coverage than their phone?

I could have written these exact words. Well put.

Almost all of my bills are on automatic debit. The exceptions are American Express and Mastercard. I pay those on-line monthly. I can checkl all of my balances on-line.I have a Sprint aircard and had go od service everywhere EXCEPT Alaska. No Sprint service there. I did have fairly good AT&T cell service there. In Canada, I had Sprint but it was VERY expensive roaming there. Some of the others can probably tell you who has good braodband in Alaska.

Options: 1: do your banking on Dial Up, or using the phone teller
2: Some parks offer CAT-5 jacks
3: Bank-by-mail
4: Don't worry about Wi-Fi security
5: Sign up for data services with your cell provider and either use an air-card or tether your phone to the computer (mine tethers with blue tooth) for the banking session
I actually use method 4.. I have fairly good anti-hacker ware on the computer, and the bank has fairly secure HTTPS as well.. So far I've not seen any evidence of a problem

never had a problem in the past years using the wifi...maybe tomorrow, but never in the past few years...the site you sign into, bank, etc..has built in security...so I don't see the problem....where you get into a problem is if your computer doesn't have the security items it needs on it...happy rving and keep em rolling

I have direct deposit and use my debit/credit card for payment of cash withdrawals. I check and do the rest online on my banks website.

Set your WiFi with security and make sure your connection to the the bank is secure as well - the address should be https:, not http.
