A little over a month ago I asked for insight as to why the MH got stinky when we were driving down the road. You all gave lots of help and I wanted to thank you and let you know "Plug your bathroom sink" was *the* solution. The reason is because the Winnie people have plumbed the bathroom sink to drain directly into the Black Water holding tank. Although the U in drain pipe is suppose to keep the sewer smells out but doesn't work when driving over bumpy road surfaces. This explains another problem we were having - the Black Water tank filling up faster in this MH than it did in our old TT. Again, thanks to all who contributed to solving our smelliness.

That is interesting. And thanks for sharing the solution. So often folks won't come back and let us know. What RV model are you referring to ?

THANKS!!!!!
My wife says the sink smells when we set up camp. I'll bet it is same cause. We'll try a plug while driving.

It's not just Winnies mine also does I was told because there isn't much water in bowl so when you try to empty tank not any push with the extra water from the bathroom sink lots more water helps move the heavy stuff.

Our Minnie has the bathroom sink drain going to the black tank too. The sink came with a plug for the drain. However, we have odor problems from the shower drain losing the water seal in the trap due to bumps going down the road.

I put a glass of water down every drain, this fills the trap, just before I take off down the road. I do it every time and it works for me. I never seenm to have a problem. Some people say that if yourun with the roof vents open, that the air coming in can set up a slight positive pressure and that will sometimes force the water out of the traps, so a drain plug might be the answer.

I think doing both, water in the drain before leaving....AND...using the plugs is the best option. And it's FREE!!
Don't know if I'd buy the roof vent/positive pressure thing....especially on a hot day, when you'd rather have the A/C on, or just run with the windows open.
Keep the traps full, and the odor/gases will stay where they belong.
