You may be able to buy a new unit for just a little more than an RV technician maybe fixing it. Sounds like you are handy, so the installation is easy. The hard part getting the units on and off the roof.

If the compressor is kicking on no cold replace the whole thing. Replacing it would be the easiest repair you could do excecpt getting it up on the roof. Sounds like you have a freon leak finding it and repairing it if repairable would be expensive.

If the AC is a heat pump, check the air coming out of the vent. If it is hot, the solenoid that reverses the freon flow is bad. If the air coming out is the same as intake air, you've lost your freon charge.

If the unit is 3 years old you need to re-read your warranty.

Normally at the end of a warranty statement is the phrase "You may have other rights which vary from state to state" (or something very much like that)

You need to know what your rights are in your state.. You may (or may not) still have warranty remaining. Learn your rights

key phrase "Uniform Commericial Code" and/or "Consumer Protection Act"

The first is not law.. The 2nd MIGHT BE, depending on your state (And it will indeed vary from state to state, it may also be, in essence, the 1st)

We had a similar problem and air condtioner guy told us the fan was stuck on the motor on top of rv. We took off the cover and sprayed fan area and she came right on.

This sounds like "my truck won't crank." Not cranking or not starting? Is it Blowing and Not Cold or Not Blowing...? I take it at this point you made sure the fan is running. Same motor drives indoor blower and outside fan. Do you know the compressor motor is actually running? Humming because it's spinning or humming because it's locked? Can you get an amperage draw reading on it (test meter called AmProbe, SperrySnap, probably others, places like Harbor Freight have cheap ones)? Compressor should be labeled with running amps and LRA (locked rotor amps). You don't want LRA, but if you can check it, post results.

Don't know if you seen my last post, but I replaced the circuit board in mine when it did the same thing, (less than 50 dollars, half hour to do it) and it works great.
