I pretty much agree. At least half way between NADA low and average.
Some folks will not lower the price becuase they are upside down. Payed to much to start with.
IMHO get what you want the first time. Most expensive way to buy anything is twice.
And MH's are like buses wait 5 min there will be another one along.
Take yout time. One reason folks pay to much for cars etc they get tired of looking. Heck if getting a great deal was easy everyone would do it.
And IMHO do not take a second on your house to buy a toy like a MH.
Everyone talks about the cost, but what is never mentioned much is the concept of usage. If you actually use it, you will get your money out of it. On my 33K cost mh which we bought 4 years ago, if we lost it tommorrow, we would have gotten our money out of it, in fun enjoyment and memories. JMHO!!!

Good luck!
Thanks for the link to the 24V. I left a message for the owner. I can't figure out why many of the ads I see don't list simple things like mileage or whether it is an E-350 or 450. Maybe they will call back. It seems like 10% below low NADA ($22K) is so far from the asking price of $36.5K, but all they can do is say no. I've been trying to negotiate some prices with dealers over the past few months, and they don't seem to want to budge much.
We aren't in a hurry, but I certainly am getting to the point where I'd buy something just to stop looking. I will try to remember to be patient .

Just go buy one. Not to sound smug, but you've taken a year to try to buy one and you'll NEVER recoup that year. You've gone a year without the enjoyment of RVing in your own RV. Sure, do your research and study up on the options, but a year? Do it now, and enjoy. Life is too short.

Just a comment about brands. Winnebago has a lot more information about their units on their website. Various people mention getting wiring and plumbing diagrams, etc. Forest River (I own one) doesn't have much easily available, but you can call the factory, if you can find their phone number. The others I can't comment on.

Thanks for the link. We are in the Bay Area, so L.A. is a bit of a trek for us. But, I will contact the seller anyhow to gather more info. I have so many notes on so many RVs!

Be sure to buy your second motorhome FIRST. We have a very old motorhome and we love it. If I was going to sink 30-40 K into one, I would make sure that it is what I would want in a couple years from now.

Among the Winnebago models with 24V floorplan, I would choose Outlook, Minnie (predecessor of Outlook) or Itasca Spirit over the Access or Impulse, where that floorplan now resided.
Compared to the older Winnebago lines, Access and Impulse are a downgrade in materials and construction techniques, intended to bring production costs down to a level where there is some chance to compete with other entry-level coaches like Sunseeker, Freedom, and FW5000 and its clones.
Winnebago has offered the 24V floorplan on 11,700 pound E-350 and 12,300 pound Chevy 3500 chassis, with 14,050 (E-450 or Chevy Workhorse) options, over the past several years. The 24V floorplan is light enough to use the lower rated chassis. If you get the 1 1/2 ton, you can carry another 2000-3000 pounds of stuff, or enjoy a harsher ride if you don't load it up.

Hi,
Please don't rush into anything. When you're sure of what you want then buy, especially if you're looking at new rigs. If you're looking at something that has already taken the majority of the depreciation hit, then you can play the "buy and trade up" game.
We did our research for about 3 years before we started buying. We started with pop-ups, then travel trailers, then C's and finally we found an A that fit our needs better than anything else. One thing that threw us a bit off the track was the popularly repeated adage "A's are for couples, C's are for families." Having 4 kids, we believe that and completely disregarded A's. Until finally, some people on this great forum offered us their experience with A's and having a family...and the rest is history.
We LOVE the rig we bought. We bought right the first time. (I'm not quite so thrilled about the manufacturer: GBM...they could've put quite a bit more emphasis on quality), but the floorplan and overall functionality, storage, safety and utility of the floorplan and chassis is perfect for our use. I've corrected most of GBM's screw-ups.)
Don't take forever, but be sure to research all of the possible options. Go to lots of RV dealerships (DON'T talk to salespeople) and RV shows.
Good Luck,
