I have been getting Outside Magazine since last June. I don't know how this subscription got started as I didn't knowingly subscribe. Does anyone know if this magazine could have come with a membership to an RV type club or organization? I have joined several of those.
Thanks

I have been getting it also. I think it has to do with a promotion on Reserve America website. I believe there is a box that you have to check to not get the magazine

Hey guys...me too, lol!
I started getting Outside, Men's Health, and one other magazine that I never even looked at...so I guess that one of these companies is really tossing some bucks around trying to push their sales totals up!
Anyway, I have never even opened one of them...
I would rather go camping instead!!!

Yea, those are because of a checkbox on the Reserve America website when you signed up. It took some calling around to figure out where those came from. Unfortunately, when you pay postage for mail forwarding, you try to know everything you are receiving. To get a bunch of new magazines without knowing they are coming can be a drag (and expensive).

Be very careful about with which websites you choose to leave your email address. If a website displays a "McAfee Secure" or "Verisign" (there are a handful of others) you can pretty much guarantee that robot spammers will NOT pick out your personal information once you have "sent". (these 'robots' are like 'hunters' that will scan servers in search of particular information - they are sometimes set up by advertising and communication agencies to go in search of information)
Many companies also take your personal details and SELL them to them to other companies - so they can use the for promotional purposes, or sending you magazines, as you mentionned.
Just be sure to read the Disclaimer notice provided on most websites. They will more than often let you know how you personal information will be treated.
