Last weekend we pulled into a cute little campground (next to a golf course) and except for a couple of other rigs, the had the place all to ourselves. School is back in session, everyone is back at work, seasonals had everything buttoned up for the winter, and we are enjoying a beautiful autumn. I know it is awful, but I love it when the kids go back to school - plenty of sights, quieter, calmer mornings, and still beautiful weather. Does it get much better than this?

Yep! We still have 3 trips left for the season (one is to Disney World). Nothing like sitting around a campfire in warm clothes, hot chocolate in a mug, and a quiet campground!

We just left WDW yesterday. Flew down due to the gas prices. Hot,humid, a lot of foeigners mostly spanish speaking. Stayed at the All-star movie resort. Have been to WDW before. Lines at the parks were fast moving except on Sat night a little slower. Food was good. I want to tow my new rig down there but wife says that we could both fly 3 times with the gas prices. Fort Wilderness looked nice, went to the Hoop-de-doo review. Don't miss it. Lots looked wet and it looked like they were either working on drainage or the new install of cable?

After labor Day, the ID state park we were park hosts at almost becomes deserted. We had a couple of very nice days there and then moved over to a closed (for construction) campground to visit the hosts for a couple of days.
We had the whole park to ourselves.

Then went to a state park close to Yellowstone for a couple of days - only five campers in the park.

Now we are in a Federal park where some friends are camp hosts. We are in a vacated camp host site right next to them. We will stay here while touring Yellowstone park and the surrounding area.
They tell us the crowds in Yellowstone are gone (although there are still people touring the park) so we are looking forward to a relaxing time here.

Yup - fall is great.

Stop it, stop it.

DW and I are snowbirding for the first time this winter and I'm not ready yet. Way too much to do to start smelling fall in the air.

I think you are right, it just might be fall. The following pics were taken less than a week ago.

Of course, that isn't anywhere in the lower 48 but along the Top of the World highway in the Yukon Territory, Canada.
