CindyBR were you by chance at the Martin Creek lake State Park? We were there and are still there! We love that park. We love this time of year when there is no one in the park but us (there are 3 of us)

No, it doesn't get much better than this time of year. Walked the dog through the nearly empty campground and had a breeze and small shower of little yellow leaves. Awesome!!!

YES!!!!!!! I agree, with ALL. I am in the Adirondacks, just a hint of fall color, sunny days, cool nights. The cg was full for the weekend, and then all those working folks (poor things) and their kids left, the peace and quiet is deafening. I hate to admit that I like it when the kids are back in school, and I was a teacher!! To those of us that can, enjoy the fall camping season. Kathy

those are some beautiful photos, Tom! Autumn is surely the best time to be outside...once the skeeters die off. You don't see much of the spruce kill-off in those - did the beetles miss it? Hope so!

The kids may be back in school, but summer weather is still hanging on. For example, it is still hurricane season, a summer weather pattern in the south.
I look for autumn sometime in October.

Fall is on its way for sure. We are currently in Kalispell, MT (near Glacier National Park). It is getting colder every day (frost this morning). We need to go south, but we found out today that we need a repair (our throttle air control). If we don't get out of here soon we may be in for the winter!

If you don't mind could you please do a favor for me? Gently get down on your hands and knees and kiss the ground. Say that this is for the guy in Louisiana who wishes he was in Montana! Preferably do it in Glacier National Park.
