I'm planning on heading out west tomorrow on I-70 and was just reading on MSN about how the midwest was hit by flooding, winds, and power outages from IKE. They were also talking about long lines for fuel in some areas of OH, IN, IN, and MO, but were not specific as to where. I can make it to IL before I have to fuel up, but if there is an issue there, I'll probably stop and top off in WV. Does anyone have any knowledge of the areas/conditions at fuel stops along I-70 in those states??

Thanks for the help

No shortage in IN, but we are one of the higher priced states at $4.04 to $4.14

Ohio was hit with a very strong windstorm on Sunday.
There is a lot of power out so the gas problem has to do
with stations not being open because of no power.
Here in the Cincinnati area they are working furiously to get power restored but there are still gas stations down, which means that the ones that are open are running out of gas.
I would suspect this is also going on along I70 around Dayton and Columbus.

Thanks for all the info. Sorry to hear about all the problems there in OH. Based on these reports it looks like my fuel stop will be in IL after all.

There a few few places here in Indianapolis where you can get diesel for 3.99 on the south side. PM me if you need the locations, and yes NO lines. OH maybe a differet story, some places don't have their power back on yet frpm Sunday's storm. Or at least that is what I'm told by relatives who live in Richmond, IN which is on the IN/OH border where 70 crosses. So no lines just can't pump it.

Just came East from Scott AFB in western IL across 70. Lot's of places with fuel and diesel was anywhere from 3.66 to 3.99 on average. A few spots along the way saw some single stations along intersetions posting 4.09 -- but saw no vehicles there. Kind of ironic, but in some stations the price of diesel was 10 cents cheaper that regular!!!
