I think the #1 thing our son enjoys about camping is never hearing the words, "No, I can't play with you. I really have to get some work done," from either of his parents.

Yes I remember being a teenager and not wanting to go. Now I wish I had those trips back. I have lost some camping relatives since then.
Currently, I am about 3 years away from my oldest becoming a teen, and I do dread the fact that he will undoubtedly lose the desire to be with us on a camping trip as well.

It would probably be easier to say what the kids don't like about camping, going home. I think mostly my grandkids like the fact that everyone has time for them. Nobody is too busy, and everyone is having fun. If they want to ride around the campground, some will always ride with them. If they want to to for a walk, someone is always free. Play a game of catch, or frisbee, or ladder golf, at least one adult will be ready and willing. And no body is fussing. The kids eat all of their food because they are so hungry from being so active. They go to bed without fussing because they are really tried from all of the play.
Of course some of them just like to catch snakes, :

My kids love sleeping in the tent, sitting around the campfire, going fishing, doing any of the organized activities sponsored by the campground (races, crafts, scavenger hunts, hayrides, etc.) and the whole swimming thing.
I love all of it except the fishing. Yuk.

My kids love having their own tent now that they're older (22 & 15). the oldest doesn't camp with us often, but the 15yo likes to go if she can take her friends. We nearly always have between 1 & 5 teens with us. She has her own tent, a little boat, and some equipment.
Of course, camping with teens is different than camping with toddlers. The days of entertaining them with a shovel and a stick are over. Now we need the iPods, flat irons, cell phones, 20 bikinis, hair gel, and SHOES. OMG, the shoes! We have to hit at least one Dollar Store and maybe craft show or roadside stand. Still, the girls love the freedom of walking around with their flashlights meeting up with other kids their age, hanging out on the swings talking until 11pm. They would stay at the lake all day, or until the boys go home, haha. And they like to text their other friends who stayed home so they know what they're missing

Having a large Bon fire
Drinking cold beers
Playing fetch with our 4 dogs
Chasing after our 4 dogs
Getting yelled at by CG neighbors
Drinking more beer with the neighbors
OH NO... THATS ME, NOT THE KIDS (just kiddin)
My kids are nearing their late teens and I am glad they still have an interest.
They like Bike riding
Hiking anywhere
Visiting local attractions (educational, historical)
A pool and arcade still works on those crummy days.
They don't like theme parks (lucky me, I don't either)
Fishing
And lately, bringing friends
I am sure when they get drivers licenses, camping won't interest them anymore.
Don't like the view?? Then change it and Go Camping

We do alot of beach/resort camping so I would have to say the kids really enjoy the waterparks/swimming and the amusement parks. They also like the playgrounds.
