went last weekend to the RV show in Hershey
it rained all day friday but we went to the show anyway - saturday
was sunny but hot..
just some thoughts and musings.....

met some very interesting people
Marcus Lemonis - yes, that's his real name - CEO of Camping World - he was really helpful to my DH and I and very knowledgeable about the rv's they had and the stores around the country-he definitely knew the market and his numbers...

we also met Jeff Hanemaayer, Chairman of Roadtrek - he was sitting in one of the campers - and we were asking questions - and if i hadn't picked up one of the brochures, and looked at it there, we would have never known he was the Chairman - also very knowledgeable - very personable and answered all our queries - and hubby got him started on the subject of a hybrid Sprinter chasis camper - so they were engaged for quite a while - as far as he knows, there are no plans in the near future to bring a hybrid sprinter to the US

there was also a gentleman there with the coolest utility trailer - converted into a camper after you take your toys out - very innovative -

some new coaches that were nice - but really nothing extraordinary

did like the new fleetwood X floorplan
mid ship TV - (i have always hated the tv in the front)

and we saw the counry coach Veranda - went inside and out on the porch - very cool - still don't think i'd want one, but it was amazing technology and mechanics

We weren't alert enough to know if we saw any of these people, but we did sit in one of the Roadtrek models. We were surprised (and disappointed) to see that an electrical cable came through a finished panel via a 1 inch or bigger drilled hole, no grommet or finish on the hole at all. It seemed like a crude installation on such a rig.

We never did find the veranda model. I would have liked to see that one.

Saw all the Veranda floor plans (4 or 5) at the FMCA St Paul Convention. They had one they were repeatedly raising and lowering it so we could see how the mechanism works. It really is amazing to see the upper windows in the wall become the side wall of the veranda. The whole mechanism is quite amazing. It does add a lot of weight and I not sure how practical it would be for our winter travels where we seldom have extended periods of weather we want to sit outdoors in. For tailgating or other events where the weather is suitable it sure looks great.

CC has a video on the website showing the veranda operating. I love the part when the announcer says you can hangout with all your neighbors but "above and away" from them. I'm picturing tossing coins to the poor, little people.
