What a coincidence!! Virtually the same exact thing happened to me. The only difference was after my trailer caught fire, I was abducted by aliens.

Wow I thought I was the only one this happened to.
I can't believe how simular our stories are.
Except I didn't have a 5th wheel and I don't have a diesel and it wasn't a tree limb.
I didn't have airconditioners, nor propane tanks it was a t K-mart not Wal-mart
it wasn't rainning and the electric didn't short out the radio was still playing soft rock
The police drove us 200 miles home and the tow truck pulled it to our RV dealer for free. where the rv dealer had us on the road in 1/2 hour all covered by insurance.
Other than those small details our stories are exactly the same weird huh?

As good luck would have it, someone was selling an identical rig in the parking lot!
So, you called the insurance guy, he cut you a check, you bought your "new to you" rig right there on the spot and were on your way.
However, you failed to do a complete PDI...

Did the police cite you for being over your truck's GCWR and GVWR and tell you to get a good lawyer because the entire world was going to sue you for putting their families in danger?

Obviously caused by towing overweight at a speed 39 mph over the reccomended top speed for that combo.

You forgot to mention that the manufacturer is at fault for all this and that you're entitled to a new unit.

WOW!!! what a coinkydink, my second cousin twice removed, his name is Scooter, don't ask why, he had purt near the same sperience. Ceptin' his wus a reefer trailer what he'd converted frum a 5er hitch to a bumper pull an he was totin it with a Chevy S-10 he'd went an put a 600 HP Cat in. The reefer shorted out when he drug it under a ATM canopy an he called fer roadside assistance. Whilst he wus waitin' it caught afire an if'n it wusn't fer his ol coon hound a draggin' the baby outta tha reefer...well it jus' wouldna been purty. Course inshurence covert it all and he wus back on that road in less then a wink an the repair shop even sprung fer a new paint job on the S-10 so's it would match tha reefer and throwed in a new set of mud tars ta boot.
