My husband and I saw the SuperNova 6400 at the Hershey Rv Show this past weekend. We currently have a Class A PaceArrow Vision and my complaint with our current unit is that I am the one stuck having to constantly set up and take beds down to accomodate sleeping 6. As soon as we walked into this model, we both knew that this set up is the one for us. My husband was ready to buy then and there, me, I have a difficult time taking the major hit of depreciation on buying a new unit. Ideally I would like to wait 5 years and buy a used model. We have been going back and forth about pro's and con's this past week. We have read about the ride, noise, and towing issues. My husband is currently in Las Vegas on a job and once he returns will be going to the dealership to do a test drive. In the meantime, I am looking for any information and opinions that I can get.

I can't comment on the Supernova specifically, but we went from a TT where we had to make the beds every night to having bunk beds in our Four Winds 34H. And even with just 2 kids it is much nicer not to have to make up and take down the beds every night. They can go to sleep whenever they want and we still have a table and sofa available.

Not sure what you read about the ride and towing issues. I have a smaller model and I am more than satisfied with it. They drive great, get decent mileage, and with mine, I can tow #9,000 with out coming close to being overweight. It is however, a truck. It sounds like a truck and rides like a truck, which I love. We camp in State Parks quite often and never worry about ground clearnce or traction. I have seen some Super Novas that have replace the mechanical fan with an electric one, and they are quieter. Any way, I would recommend the rig highly, good luck on your decision.

Gosh, I TRIED to love this coach, but after driving it - GOOD GRIEF.
I currently have an Alfa See Ya Gold 40 foot Class A, and I was attracted to the SuperNova because of the sleeping configuration (we have five kids). But, then I drove it...
It is a DISASTER - we were bouncing all over the road, particularly in the back. Maybe this is normal for a Class C (or any chassis that is not on airbags), but it was also unacceptable.
Very disappointing - I kept asking myself, “is it really that bad?” and the answer kept coming back “yes, it is that bad.”
I wonder if there is any way to put airbags on this chassis? If not, oh, well, better luck next time...
Oh, BTW, the coach had a lot of little nit picky problems - the carpet was coming up, the seat cushion velcro backing came loose from frame, and other little things.... Maybe that is why the coach was almost 30% off.

DITTO. I too TRIED and TRIED to like this coach. Same thing, ride and quality. Not all C's need air bags nor do they ride like the Super Nova. For me it was do I give up handling, ride, ccc, and interior workmanship to have a cool looking RV? No.
IMHO when we as buyers have to start thinking of what WE can put on a brand NEW coach to make it ride better........it's time to run as fast as you can from that model of RV.

Since there is a 70% chance of rain on Saturday and we will not be taking our kids to Hershepark (season passes are great!) we have made an appt. with RJ at Martinsburg RV to take one out for a test drive. We will be posting our opinions upon our return. Thanks for all the info.

I'm glad you are taking one out for a test drive. As you can see from my first reply, I don't agree with the other comments, and I have seen/heard comments both for and against the ride of this rig. I guess it is such a personal thing that you have to see for yourself. We only have 12,000 miles on ours, mostly in the mountains of Colorado, but we absolutely love it. Power to spare, parks and drives better than anything its size. It is noisier than most, and rides like a truck. Good luck and let us know how you feel about it.

We are taking our 6400 for the second time this weekend for a week stay in DC, but after the first short trip, we really like everthing, and I am comparing to the Jayco Seneca. I feel like the responses that were so bad on the SuperNova, were in a different RV type than I am driving! Yes the 6400 is stiffer than a Seneca, but none of the sway when going over bumps or being passed by trucks and I love the feel when driving. We evaluated an equivalent (inside layout only) Kountry Star with bunk beds but it was 50K more. I am very satisfied with quality so far, just had 5 minor problems that dealer fixed or have replacement parts on order. As some else commented, it is a personal decision for everyone.

WAY louder, mainly, I think, because the engine is right in front of you. Overall, a WAY less pleasant driving experience, to be frank.
