To all you duners out there.. Where should we camp at Glamis..? We have a 2 month old baby, so quite at night is a must.. I want to be far away from the party scene. My 13 year old and I want to be able to ride to see the scene however.. I have heard wash 13 is a good place for family.. What do you all think..?
Thanks

Broc, when you going? i always stay at the flats but that's because that is where my group camps. I don't know much about the Washes but I have ridden thru them.

The "Washes" are a better choice than Gecko or Cement Flats for getting away from the party crowd, BUT the trains run day and night and are quite noisy to say the least!! I usually try to get down to "wash 15" or higher.

Thanks Bob, Ah I guess thats what runs on those railroad tracks, saw the tracks on the map but didn't even think about the noise... do the run one time a night or 10 times a night and do they blow there horns as they pass? I take it that there are signs that say "Wash 15" or do I need to count as I drive?

We are going on the 26 and staying until the 1st. What do you mean the "Flats"? Is that the same as Cement flats on Gecko Road? Where do all the vendor set up..? Is the hole place like a 24hour party?

Sorry everyone for all the questions, thats for all the answers.....

There is no place quiet in Glamis at all.

Head to Gorden's Wells and then camp all the way up north, it's very quiet there and no dust and no train.
You can take sand highway right to the crazy Glamis drags.

Those dates, are those over Halloween?
If so, it won't matter where you stay, it will be crazy that weekend.
There are vendors right across from Cement flats and there are vendors behind the store.

The trains run all night and blow their horns whenever they come by.

What kind of rig do you have? That will dictate on where to camp in the washes.

The lower the wash number, the more you'll hear the train horn. On off weekends and weekdays, the train hardly ever blows it horn away from the train crossings.
