Been fulltiming since March 08, headed out to visit friends in PA, returning to Alberta for the summer and leaving soon for the US (warmer weather) until April 1 09. I think the thing that surprised us both the most is we did not feel bad leaving our acerage at all, we were just excited and happy to leave. Have not regretted our decision at all, in fact we are happier than we ever imagined we would be living in our fifth wheel! We feel like this is what we have waited for all our lives, we are more relaxed and love the freedom of this lifestyle. We watch less TV, walk more, read more and have more time to spend with friends and family.

After more than 2 years on the market we finally took the sign down (3/08), figuring it just wasn't our time to go yet. Thought we'd wait it out until the real estate market improved. Boy did we think wrong!

DH has had one surgery/illness after the other since the first of the year and hasn't been able to work, and I was just recently imformed that my boss can no longer afford to pay me. He is going to bring in his wife to take over my job. So.....looks like we may get our wish after all and become full-timers. DD & SIL desperatly want our house and will take over payments so we don't have to worry about loosing it or depleing our savings trying to make the payments.

It's not how we wanted to do it, but that's life and you just have to go with the flow.

Best of wishes to you runaways... I know the timing can sometimes be erratic, but you have a great attitude about the situation and you should do very well in your new lifestyle. I hope you will keep us updated. Happy travels.

Sure hope I didn't put a damper on this thread with my whining. Keep those posts coming folks, I want to hear about all you lucky people who have forged on ahead of us. We will be out there on the road as soon as (or shortly thereafter)the DD & SIL bring our first granddaughter into the world. She's already a week late getting here

So let's hear more positive stories.

Lost the house back to the bank. Tried to sell it or the RV to try to save the budget and neither went. So, now we have nothing to show for loosing the house, except the loss of equity so, we have to work on saving some cash before we can hit the road. We're delayed but not derailed. Happy camping! - Eric -

runaway - just the opposite, your positive attitude should be an inspiration to all.

rockhillmanor - when you crash and burn and wake up to see them embalming your remains(remember folks waking up and talking with the mortician on 6 feet under) you had a bad day. The rest are just little doses of lemon to remind you how sweet all the sugar in your life is

We went back to fulltiming 12/1/07 - put the house up for sale a couple months later (it's sold now). We're back to being happy owning our lives again instead of dedicating them to the "stuff"
