for those of you who have been to the ocean lakes campground, do you have a preference of which section you stay in?
We have never been there, never been beach camping anywhere and have no idea which section would be best to stay in.
We are heading there the second weekend in november. We have 2 teens who will want easy access to the indoor pool, game room, etc, but mom and dad would like to stay close to the ocean. If we do stay close to the "entertainment", we are concerned about all the noise from that area. Is that a problem to consider?
Shade is not important in november.
Anybody have any suggestions for us first time beach campers? They certainly have a LOT of sites to choose from!
Thank you in advance for your help!

I have only stayed in the HH section. This is close to the beach and the other entertainment. Here is their website if you need it.

We were there in late August for the first time in the K section. It was close enough to the entertainment center for easy walking, as well as close enough to the beach to walk, IMHO. However, our site in that section was not big enough for our 39 foot fifth wheel and although it was not crowded during the week at all, they didn't have a larger site available for the entire week we were there (it was the week ending with Labor Day weekend). My DH had to put the RV in the site on an angle in order to accomodate it and in the process, the tree on the site put holes in our roof. My DH is now fighting with their insurance company to get them to cover the damage. We did walk around the campground during the week and wrote down the site numbers of those that would be big enough to accomodate us the next time we go there.

We`ll be there in aug. 09. I went with the "I" section #21! it`s a cement pad and full hookup. hopefully I picked a good spot. I had the choice of a beach front spot, but I had heard the golf carts are crazy and didn`t want to deal with the noise.

I've only been once, and I stayed in the 2000 section which was nice. But if I had a choice I would pick the "I" section.

Just make sure you lock things up when you are not at your site. There have been several reports of thefts from campsites this summer, when people were away from their site or at night. We refuse to go there again, because of the drunks and kids on golf carts.

We're staying in the I section next summer and most people say it is a good section to choose as well as HH.

Well, anywhere in H or HH section will be good as far as location to the beach and the pool, arcade etc. It will be a very short walk to the observation deck or to the arcade, pool etc. Some have posted about noise or theft in the summer. You are going in NOVEMBER and will have a fantastic time. The kids will have a great time too. You may want to bring or rent a golf cart to check the whole place out, its big. By the way they have outstanding ammenaties. Enjoy and have a safe trip...

Near the beach and near the pool should not be a problem in November. It will not be nearly as crowded as the summer. If you do get on the beach. Tie down your awning, as the wind gets up in the winter.

We were there for the first time this past August. We are definately going back, awesome park, awesome amenities. We will try to book for the HH or H or I, the 2000 section has some large pull thrus as well. The K section is the best for shade, though.
Don't worry about noisy golf carts, they only allow electric. If people get out of hand with them, or over load them, they are taken away, no second chance, no refunds.
We have been to over 35 rv parks in the past 7 years, Ocean Lakes is # 1 on my wifes list, tied for # 1 with mine (Frontiertown is the other)
