I would bet that the floor around the toilet was not flat and level so the installer compensated by tightening it down a little more...then too much stress

I would go with SunflyerA's idea. At least check it before replacing, there are only a couple of bolts and if can move or is sitting on a high spot it won't take much to break it.

Call Mandalay, you have (had) a three year year warranty, and they are real good about it. I wouldn't put a cheap plastic one in a quarter million dollar MH.
